I just had the nicest encounter at my jcp Sephora! I'm going to have to figure out how to get a compliment on the SA. She was alone and super busy, but gave me full access to the bite drawer and told me to swatch whichever multisticks I wanted and put the ones I swatched in a bun and she'd make testers from them. She also gave me a deluxe UD mascara sample for free :).

@Libellules I havent seen them in person yet so I'm not 100% sure.  I want one that would be good for my skin tone (medium now but light medium all year). I like the swatch of gelato on you. I can see that as lipstick for sure. But I want to pick one that I can use all over. So prob a more neutral one.

Thank you for the swatches!  I can't decide if I like Macaroon or Papaya better, but I definitely want to pick up a pink. I absolutely love Blondie on you and wish it looked like that on me. It probably will once my tan fades, but I'm hoping Honeywheat will give me what I'm looking for now.

@kso1225 Papaya is a departure from my normal preferences, so I went for it! I see Macaroon and perhaps Blondie in my future. That's funny though - I think I prefer Blondie in your swatch than mine! I'm worried it will pull too orange on me...

I like both of those too! I'm wearing Gelato today on my cheeks, and had tried it on my lips. I think it would be a legit nude on my lips (or at least, a very 60's mod pale pink), and as they are pigmented, would have required more prepping this morning than I was willing to do O.O

Nice! Thanks for the swatches, @Libellules 🙂 Were you allowed to purchase any, or is that online only? If you were able to, did you end up getting any of them, or were you able to get out without buying any?

@Anonymous I was! Actually, I went by about 10 days ago, before leaving on our trip - they only had a handful available (in the drawer) and i could purchase but not swatch (usually the circumstances I run into at JCP). 

I ended up purchasing 4 - Papaya, Gelato (reminds me a bit of NARS Sin when swatching), Nectar, & Cashew. I'd like to pick up Blondie and Macaroon at some point. I think when sheered out, blondie could bring some nice warmth, but it does scare me a bit at full strength with my coloring :). Have you ordered any yet? All of the JCP's in my city are showing them in stock on the "find in store" page 🙂

I've actually never been to the Sephora in JCP so I wasn't aware that you can often buy but not swatch. That seems strange to me, so that was very lucky that you were allowed to swatch your heart out today 😉

All of those that you picked up look really nice, @Libellules. I am now thinking about Gelato, in particular, since it kind of reminds me of something (because I don't have Nars Sin)... maybe a bit like Thistle?

Anyway, yes, I have already ordered Nectar, Honeywheat, Mochi and Praline, and Bite and Sephora apparently sent me Cocoa, Blondie and Macaroon. I am currently out of the country, so I haven't seen them yet, but I am excited for all of them.

Hopefully I can hold out on buying any more for the time being, as this "buying everything Bite sells" is starting to be quite the expensive hobby.

@Anonymous @Libellules I did a swatch comparison on Temptalia last week when Bite posted swatches of Gelato on social media.

It is basically Thistle in a matte-r finish 😉

Oo, thanks, @Mochapj! Thistle is such a pretty colour, and it probably would look nice on the eyes, too... so that is good to know that about Gelato, just in case I really "need" it for the eyes or cheeks.

I should probably just re-route my paychecks so that the direct deposits just go Bite/Sephora, rather than my bank account. That way, we can cut out that step 😛

@Mochapj I'm surprised to hear this, actually. I tried Gelato this morning and it was very...nude like on me. I remember Thistle being more pigmented. Hmmm, will have to give Thistle another try since it has been a few months!

Oh sorry @Anonymous - my fault, I wasn't clear! You can definitely swatch, they just tend to have products before their official release date and *those* are hit or miss when it comes to ability to swatch. So whenever I'm there to try and buy something that hasn't supposedly made it into stores yet, I usually get there before testers have been made. For example, I wasn't allowed to swatch the Bite multisticks 10 days ago, or the KVD holiday palette last year (but I could buy). But when they got Modern Renaissance, they made a tester as soon as they got it even though it wasn't out on display yet. Anything they have out can be watched just like at a regular Sephora :).

Ohhh that's a good thought! I don't have Thistle for comparison, unfortunately. Oh that's so nice! I have been secretly hoping that I was also chosen for this gift, but came home yesterday and didn't see a multistick gift in sight ;). I think you will have lots of fun with those 3!

Hah, Bite definitely makes a nice product. I'm partial to Tom Ford lipsticks, but I love Bite's formula as well and they are half the price 😄

@Libellules, No, I had understood that you were referring to the products that had not yet been released for everyone when you were talking about being able to buy without being able to swatch. It just seems strange to me because being able to swatch products is normally the reason why people prefer to buy in stores, rather than online, so for me, it makes more sense to use whatever is swatched the first time as testers for when everything is released, just like the woman did for you the other day.

I only worked in clothing retail, and we also sold things before the official release date, but we also allowed the customers to try on the items before buying them, because from my perspective, it is just strange to tell customers that they can buy something but that they are not allowed to try it before they buy it - whether it be clothing or makeup.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you receive the gift, too, and I hope you are enjoying your new multisticks 🙂

I have been wanting to try Tom Ford, as I've heard good things about his lipsticks, but since I have a gluten intolerance and have not got any definitive information that his lipsticks are gluten free, I have been able to use that an excuse not to buy the lipstick 🙂 My wallet probably appreciates it.

I understand! I've previously had some gluten issues, and things can get quite nasty. I'm sure it does! A Bite habit is bad enough, but Tom Ford is a doozy 😉

Here's another look at bite papaya on eye, cheek, and lips. It wore very well on the cheeks and lips but creased after about an hour on the eyes... not very oily-lid friendly. I love how quick and easy it was to apply everything using just fingers!
