Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them.

I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.

A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).

MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.

EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).

I didn't think those were new... I think I've seen some old Viseart posts/photos with those.

ETA: Yes, I found the old posts. Viseart posted about these on Facebook back in March 2013. Viseart also posted that the singles were of the Neutral Mattes palette, so jozkid was correct.

Looks like they had additional singles back in 2012 of other colours.

I didn't know they had singles, either. I just did a comparison, and it looks like they are individuals of the Neutral Mattes palette. I just wish I could find a list of the colors in that palette so I could double check.

ETA: I was right. I found a list of colors in a Temptalia review. They are dupes of Neutral Mattes.

The names of the singles match the list that Temptalia has for the shades in her review for Neutral Mattes

SF Bay Area peeps, the SF Powell Sephora now carries Viseart palettes! I didn't see the Theory ones but I think they have all of the regular kind. I swatched Sultry Muse and it's so gorgeous!

**side note... anyone else bothered by the way the swatches are done? Almost all the swatches for this palette are done this way...I would have kept the same color family together... like the blues one next to the other. lol**

@veronika23 it doesn't bother me, but I'm completely baffled by how they did their swatches. It looks like they just picked pans at random to swatch, because it doesn't line up with the horizontal or vertical rows 😄

True @Mochapj! I think most swatches for these went L-R... I would have done t-b for each column! 😄

My Cashmere video, if anyone is interested.  I like this one as much as Minx.  Not as eye catching but wow does it work well on.  The shadows are so lovely on, though perhaps more dupable than Minx.  Now I want Chroma, but won't do it!!!

So I got the email notification that the Theory palettes were back in stock... and I jumped on Minx. My first Viseart purchase! $45 is a much easier sell than $80, so we'll see how I like them!

Ribbons is live in the US!  Of course Canada has nothing in stock... I wonder where the Theory restock for the US came from...
