Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them.

I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.

A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).

MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.

EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).

I have been waiting for ND/Viseart to drop something like this and I am definitely getting it!!! Though I'm not in a rush so I will wait for a good sale unless it's LE.

@makeitup305 ugh I was JUST commenting to someone how I don't need any more palettes, totally set. This is gorgeous, I agree. I might have to convince myself it is too similar to Tryst 😄

Does anyone know why the Liaison palette has been out of stock for SO long? And not just at Sephora. I’ve only been able to find it at one source, but I don’t want to have to spend $75 for free shipping. Plus I’d rather get some points for the purchase (although they seem to be becoming more and more useless here). Just getting really frustrated because it’s been at least a month now. 😡

@MCSSavvy  Thanks for thinking of me. I did notice that Beautylish had it back in stock, but I couldn't wait so I ordered it from Frends instead. It just ticked me off to pay shipping. 😞

@jozkid  I know some palettes are having their packaging revamped to the newer magnetic packaging.  I don't think it was discontinued so perhaps just delay in the restock.

Thanks @MCSSavvy, but I’m not so sure. Sephora has removed the Liaison palette from its site and pretty much everywhere I’ve looked it was out of stock for a very long time. I actually did bite the bullet and order it from Frends and spent the extra $ for shipping. It IS a beautiful palette though. Still can’t figure out why it’s been MIA for so long.

@jozkid  I'm glad you were able to pick one up. I love mine.  I think it is a popular palette and it looked like it sold out at Sephora around the holidays as well as Beautylish.  They have launched a lip product and new eye palette and are switching out packaging on other palettes so if I think it is possible it may be sold out.  Viseart is very responsive on Insta so if you ask there you might get a response.

@jozkid I was going to tell you check beautylish but it’s outta stock too. That’s where I got mine. It seems weird that it would be out of stock in multiple places for so long.

Thanks @KNC24. That was the first place I looked. It’s available at Frends, but I hate spending money on shipping. I’ve been on the call back on Sephora for at least a month and I check daily just in case, but nothing. It’s supposed to be permanent so I have no idea why it’s been MIA for so long. And I really really want it. Of course

Has anybody ever depotted any of the original 12 pan pro palettes? Z Palette has a great Black deal but there is no information about Viseart. I did reach out to them so I am hoping for a response prior to the sale ending.

@Loretta55 funny you should post this....i've recently been contemplating depotting my original Viseart palettes also!  I've depotted a lot of stuff but like @Mochapj said the Viseart pans seem like they'd be more difficult than others.  I took advantage of the Zpalette BF sale to get that new induction heat thingy that has 5 heat settings, and because it's induction, only heats up the metal in the pans and not the plastic case the pans are glued to.  Can't wait to try it!

@Loretta55 I depotted all of my 12 pans a few years ago and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The glue they use to secure the pans is quite strong and despite using plenty of heat to melt the glue, the majority of my matte pans cracked and had to be re-pressed afterwards.

the shimmer palettes fared slightly better but overall it isn’t a task I’d recommend to anyone who is unaccustomed to depotting. I depot most of my makeup and despite that I still had significant damage.

I'll just chime in and say the original 12 pan palettes are so minimal to begin with, I can't really see an incentive to depot them.

I think depotting was more popular in the 2000s because you'd get stupid palettes like the UD book of shadows that had a ridiculous amount of packaging, but now palettes are much more sleek.
