A post dedicated to all things Kerastase!
Let me know what you love! As you can see, I'm particularly partial to their leave-ins and deep conditioners.
My current collection as of March 18, 2020
Wow, it’s been too long since I’ve posted! I’ve transitioned mostly from the Genesis line to the Chroma line because I love the Kérastase Chroma Absolu Strengthening Mask for Color-Treated Hair 6.8 oz/ 200 mL . I’ve also been trying some masks from the brand Davines. I’ll post those in another thread. The Kérastase Chroma Absolu Shampoo for Medium to Thick Color-Treated Hair is a replacement for the almost-gone Kérastase Chroma Absolu Shampoo for Fine to Medium Color-Treated Hair. I still have the smaller Kérastase Genesis Hair Strengthening Shampoo for Normal to Dry Hair for business trips. The Kérastase Elixir Ultime Refillable Hydrating Hair Oil for Shine is about my 10th bottle over the last decade. I’m happy it’s refillable now but it’s also slightly smaller.
Wow, I haven't updated this thread in a long while! Here is my current collection.
- Still have a (newer) liter of Kérastase Genesis Strengthening Shampoo for Normal to Oily Hair 8.5 oz / 250 mL
- The smaller shampoos are for business trips, although I go on far fewer business trips now, post-COVID, than I did before (thank goodness).
Kérastase Curl Manifesto Sulfate-Free Shampoo for Curly Hair 8.5 oz/ 250 mL
Kérastase Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Shampoo 8.5 oz/ 250 mL
- The Kérastase Genesis Strengthening Hair Mask for Normal to Dry Hair is almost gone. Once it is, I'll open the Kérastase Chroma Absolu Strengthening Mask for Color-Treated Hair 6.8 oz/ 200 mL .
- The liter of Kérastase Chroma Absolu Strengthening Conditioner for Color-Treated Hair 6.8 oz/ 200 mL is replacing my completed liter of the Kérastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner .
- I like the Kérastase Chroma Absolu High Shine Gloss Treatment for Color-Treated Hair 7.1 oz/ 210 mL but I keep forgetting to use it.
I don't own any Kerastase styling products. They're not bad but I have other leave ins and hair gels I like.
Here's my latest Kerastase collection:
I enjoy the conditioners so much that I just buy the liter / jumbo sizes now.
My favorite conditioner (the lier size) is Kérastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner . I swear it works, and it leaves my curls so pretty. It's very heavily fragrances, though, like a perfume. I like it, but you have to like it
My favorite shampoo is the Kérastase Curl Manifesto Sulfate-Free Shampoo for Curly Hair 8.5 oz/ 250 mL .
I still love the Kérastase Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Shampoo 8.5 oz/ 250 mL . I only use it one or twice in a six week period, though, starting around week four when my toner wears off.
I probably won't purchase the Kérastase Blond Absolu Moisturizing Cream Shampoo for Very Damaged Blonde Hair 8.5 oz/ 250 mL again. I like it, but you have to use a lot. I have very coarse, thick hair. It's probably better for folks with thin hair.
I've only used the Kérastase Initialiste Strengthening & Volumizing Advanced Scalp & Hair Serum 2.2 oz/ 60 mL on my scalp so far. I still need to try it on my ends. I have too much hair to use it throughout my hair.
Other products:
Kérastase Blond Absolu Hydrating Illuminating Shampoo 8.5 oz / 250 mL
Kérastase Curl Manifesto Nourishing Mask for Curly Hair 6.8 oz/ 200 mL (500 ml size)
I use other brands' styling products. Kerastase styling products are very good, but I have others I enjoy more for my curly hair. Sometimes I use some of my Genesis conditioner as a leave-in conditioner, because my hair benefits from being "weighed down."
Bumping the thread! I purchased some new Kerastase products during the Sephora sale:
Kérastase Blond Absolu Moisturizing Cream Shampoo for Very Damaged Blonde Hair 8.5 oz/ 250 mL (for my highlights)
Kérastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner 6.8 oz/200 mL
I'm particularly impressed with the conditioner. I definitely want to invest in the liter edition (I wish Sephora sold the liter size.)
My hair is ordinarily much more frizzy, and it consistently looks great with this conditioner. I'm so happy with it that I'm willing to post a picture, which you know I don't ordinarily do.
BTW, the Kiehl's Since 1851 Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak 8.4 oz/ 250 mL is a perennial favorite, too; I always recommend it.
Other products:
SEPHORA COLLECTION Melting Lip Clicks Lip Balm 05 Peach Sorbet
PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership VII Eyeshadow Palette - Divine Rose Collection 10 x 0.047 oz./ 1.32 g
PATRICK TA Major Brow Shaping Wax Tinted (I missed a spot on the right brow [your left] 😞 )
Ok I may have to pick up the Peach Sorbet @curlychiquita. Very pretty shade on you!
@curlychiquita Thanks for bumping this thread. I just colored my hair tonight and boy do I need some serious moisture! The Kerastase Genesis conditioner sounds great.
@curlychiquita I love Kerastase! Thanks for your product reviews!
Thanks, @LuxFlora! ❤ I always purchase during sales. Everything in this purchase was at least 20% off when I bought it. I know Kerastase products are expensive, but I find them so moisturizing that I keep going back to them (and staggering my purchases).
I got a chance to use the Kérastase Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Shampoo 8.5 oz/ 250 mL and the Kérastase Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Hair Mask 6.8 oz/ 200 mL, and I promised @SurprisedLemur an update on the hail thread. I naturally have dark brown hair with a lot of gray, and I like to switch colors. I am transitioning from red to brown with blonde highlights so that my gray roots aren't so obvious. I naturally pull very orange, so I get brassy quickly.
I originally used the Matrix Brass Off that my salon sells and it turned my highlights darker and greenish. (!) So I used the Kerastase shampoo for 5 minutes and the mask for 20 minutes. It not only fixed the Matrix problem, it also neutralized my original highlights. Very happy!
Thanks for the review @curlychiquita ! So happy these worked out for you. My hair also has warm undertones but I get cooler toned lo- and highlights. I will have to try these our during the spring sale 🙂
