Sooo who wants to hear my Mariah Carey story for today?!?!?! Lol!

I decided to go by my local Nordies and noticed that they still had most of the collection in stock! All I wanted was "All I Want", and saw it was there but decided to buy it on my way out since I wanted to browse the rest of the outdoor mall first (it's darn cold out so I didn't wanna be carrying extra stuff while outside).  Anyways, about half an hour later I was finished and decided to go get my lipstick.  I got to the counter and saw another lady looking at the display and thought nothing of it, and noticed the Mac SA was busy doing makeup and no one else was working.  She saw me hovering and I decided to say that I wanted to get something, but to help the other lady first since she was clearly waiting too.  The other lady said she wanted to get "All I Want", and I laughed saying I wanted the same thing.  

The sales associate went in the drawer and during that time, the other lady said "actually I was hoping you had two of them!!" to which the SA says "oh yes we do have two, but then for you (she was looking at me), I'd have to see if I could order online".  I think the other lady saw the face of pure depression and upset when the SA said that LOL because she then said it was okay for me to have one of hers.  I was so thankful.

Thank you dark-red haired lady at Nordies this morning who was generous and let me have "All I Want" since it was literally all I wanted 😄

RE: Mariah Carey Collection

I don't know if any of you girls experienced this with your MAC counters in The Bay or not but I am super pissed. I was told a few weeks ago by one of the girls I deal with all the time there, I could call today and reserve a few of the items so I could pick them up at noon (my store opens at 9:30). I just called and was told nope I can't do that. She asked if I could come in earlier (umm no my lunch is at noon and I am literally across the street from the mall not like a 3 or something hour drive from it). I only need the brush and the lipstick I was stupid enough not to buy when I could have on Dec 5 but now I may not get them at all. I told her I may not even show up at noon because I could go and the items I want may not even be there anyways so it could be a wasted trip.

Okay, my rant is over. I sure hope you girls are able to get the items you are wanting.

im in the US but even by me every time i ever called to ask if they would hold items, they wouldn't do it. it seems in my experience only those who have friends or made friends with an employee have had luck

That sucks @aviscardi. I am not a fan of the whole preferential treatment because you know someone. If you ask if something can be held for a few hours I don't see the big deal as I did it in my previous roles in cosmetics, we were not discouraged from doing it because you could lose the sale otherwise. Cosmetics is about the sales and repeat customers.

I never have good luck at The Bay's MAC counter. That sucks! I hope you are able to get the items you want!

@veronika23It is only 11:30 here in Alberta so I haven't had a chance. I may try and slip out a few minutes early for lunch.

@virgo87  did you check with the 1-800 # on MAC Canada's site?  They have different stock... sorry can't recall if you told me you called or not.

@veronika23no I didn't call. I did quickly run to the mall and thankfully I was able to get what I wanted.

The two girls working were ones I have never seen before there which I found odd.

@virgo87  Woo-hoo! Glad you got what you wanted. Maybe extra staff for the holidays and they didn't know it could be put on hold?

@veronika23Thanks me too. It wasn't life or death if I did miss out on them but the whole situation just rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe because I have worked in retail and cosmetics specifically that I look at things differently as far as customer service goes.

Ohhhhh, so cool!!  I remember when they did a SC filter for the release of the UD Vice LS... they should make these MU filters perm!
