 hi, I've just purchased a bottle of Canel No5 (in the UK) which was supplied with the attached label.  Could someone tell me if it is genuine please??

Hi @jules0051! I’m not sure anyone here on BIC can verify that, especially if the seller’s in the UK. I assume you bought this fragrance from a seller who claims they originally bought it at that US Sephora location? 

I live in Illinois (Chicago), so I can tell you this much based on the receipt: 

• The sales tax is correct: East Peoria’s sales tax is 8.5%. So, maybe the receipt’s legit?
  
  
• I’m pretty sure that store location’s a Sephora at Kohl’s. Asking Google… yep, it’s inside a Kohl’s, and the phone number listed on the receipt is correct. I didn’t think any of the Sephora at Kohl’s sold Chanel, but I could be wrong. 🤔
  
  
• The “download Sephora-to-go for iphone” note (bottom of receipt) seems sketchy. I don’t know what “Sephora-to-go” is. If they meant the app, then they should just say “download the Sephora app” and correctly spell iPhone. Hmm. I’ve never bought something from inside a Sephora at Kohl’s and gotten a printed receipt (I’ve ordered online instead), so I can’t compare a known-legit receipt to this one.

You could contact that specific store location and ask if they can verify the receipt. I don’t know if they’ll do that for you since you’re not the original purchaser and that’s not a gift receipt. (A gift receipt probably wouldn’t list the payment amount.)

@WinglessOne  From what I've read, "Sephora-to-go" is just a UK specific app.

@Shosh85  Ah. That makes the receipt sketchier then: it lists a US Sephora at Kohl’s location but mentions a UK app. I’ve never seen that on a US Sephora store’s printed receipt, and I doubt I would on a SaK receipt since there are no Kohl’s stores in the UK.

@jules0051 Just to clarify: are you in the UK? Did you buy your Chanel No. 5 directly from the Sephora UK site or a physical Sephora store location? Or did you buy it from a different (not Sephora) store? Or, are you outside the UK and bought this from someone else who’s in the US? My brain’s trying to work out how UK-specific terminology wound up on a US store’s receipt.
