so much static!

Recently my hair has been super full of static, its very thick and mostly straight. I am growing it out and right now it is shoulder length and driving me crazy. any suggestions to help get rid of the static and possibly help speed up the growing process?

RE: so much static!

My hair normally has a ton of static. It is fine, wavy, and frizzy as well. I recently switched to the Verb Ghost shampoo, conditioner, and ghost oil and it has made a huge difference for me. I no longer have static and it has significantly cut down on the frizz. Try the ghost oil for the static if you want to try one product from the line. Some people have reported that the oil is too heavy, but I personally have not found that to be true. And it does not leave my hair to be oily either, which is a nice plus (I only add the oil to the ends of my hair).

RE: so much static!

My hairstylist told me static comes from lack of hydration in the hair. She said to use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner and it should help. I personally use Iles Formula and it’s worked for me, but anything providing hydration should work I would imagine.

@Anonymous,

It's not your fault! I noticed that this was happening when I lived in a place where it was a lot colder climate and I would keep the heater blasting. I had so much static in my hair. I agree, that using a hair oil will help. If you hair is on the fine side, I recommend a spray oil and if your hair is thicker use one in a bottle! The ones in the bottle are a bit thicker in texture.

Re: so much static!

thank you so much I look forward to trying them!:)

Re: so much static!

@Anonymous I own the Alterna Kendi Oil in both forms, I think the spray oil is superior.  What I do is to spray the oil in my hands, and then distribute throughout my hair.  This is my go-to oil for when my hair gets frizzy on super humid days and I need to tame it.

I also used Matrix Oil Wonders for years.  I think it's the best all-around hair oil.  Right now I've been using It's a Ten Miracle Oil with Keratin and like how lightweight it is.  I haven't tried it during the warm months, though.

Best of luck!

Re: so much static!

@Anonymous For static, you can try a hair oil or a pomade (Got 2 Be used to make one that I liked b/c it wasn't too heavy).  I also read that dryer sheets can help.  I tried them a few times and it was negligible for me.  Best of luck!
