Artificial pigment molecules are smaller and slide out of the hair shaft quicker, the only way to keep a vivid or pastel longer is to constantly deposit colour back in. You can pick up a product like Viral that you can shampoo with every other wash that will dramatically increase longevity.

@GG84 , I used to use that shampoo and conditioner when my hair was red.  It was great!

It can be a bit drying on the hair so I always suggest adding an extra conditioner on top, but for keeping colour vibrant it’s phenomenal!
