in need of suggestions!

hi everyone, so I'm in desperate need of some conditioner suggestions. I'm soo tried of scouring the web and researching the ingredients in so many different conditioners. my hair is super dry, and doesn't like coconut oil. but it along with parabens, silicone or sulfates seem to be in every other conditioner. my scalp and hairline constantly break out if coconut oil or anything else even remotely comedogenic is in my hair products. I'm very open to suggestions, thank you so much!!

Re: in need of suggestions!

Have you looked at Briogeo? They are a more natural hair-care brand and have a lot of good benefits without a lot of the extras you can get. I personally love the "Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask" and there "Be Gentle. Be Kind. Matcha + Apple Superfood Replenishing" shampoo and conditioner. They have a wide variety of hair products, including some leave-in conditioners you might enjoy, depending on what you need for the ultimate hair perfection.

Two other brands I would check out would be "Madame C.J. Walker Beauty Culture" and "Playa". Both are really good brands that also lean a little more towards the natural side. In the case of the former they are in the middle of some re branding, packaging and reformulation so they don't have a lot to choose from at the moment. The other is still a smaller brand but EXCELLENT for hair. I would take a look at all three whenever you get a chance. (I currently use a mix of all three in my bathroom)

Two quick side notes, anything you get from Sephora is noncomedeogenic and hypoallergenic. If you are sensitive to certain ingredients (usually more natural ones) you might want to figure out what those are. Also, Coconut Oil is not something your skin/hair can absorb which is why you have been having a problem with it. Do not listen to the people out there who swear by it. There are ways to utilize the Coconut for hair/skin benefits (like Coconut Milk) but I would leave the oil for cooking.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Hair Mask 8 oz/ 237 mL

Briogeo Superfoods Matcha + Apple Replenishing Shampoo

Briogeo Superfoods Kale + Apple Replenishing Conditioner

MADAM C.J. WALKER BEAUTY CULTURE - Come Through Weightless Moisture Daily Foam Conditioner

PLAYA - Every Day Shampoo

PLAYA - Supernatural Conditioner

thanks for your suggestions! I couldn't believe how many...

thanks for your suggestions! I couldn't believe how many people in the past have told me to try coconut oil. I've known for awhile now that it's pretty useless in hair and breaks you out Soo badly. I can't believe how many hair products include it though. After reading the ingredients in Briogeo's Be Gentle, Be Kind Kale Apple Replenishing Superfood Conditioner and the don't despair, repair mask I see there is Isopropyl Palmitate as one of thefirst ingredients which is a 3-4 on the comedogenic scale so that one is a no for me! the rest look really great actually. I was so close toordering Hanz de fuko actually it looked really incredible even tho it's for men the ingredients were incredible. thanks again for the suggestions!

I work behind the scenes in the hair industry.
Isopropyl Palmitate is very commonly used - it’s a thickening agent.

Yes, I know but my scalp and skin are super super sensitive to comedogenic ingredients. Just one over a 2 on the scale is enough to break me out. Not saying it's bad just comedogenic. 😌

@Zakkarius

Not everything Sephora sells is non comedogenic and hypoallergenic, that’s a very bold and incorrect statement.
