dry shampoo

Hey guys, so my hair is super flat and gets greasy within 12 hours of washing it so lately I've been using dry shampoo to give myself more time between washes. I bought the Moroccanoil dry shampoo for lighter tones and it gets flaky within 2 hours of me using it. By the end of the day at work, ill have white flakes all over my clothes...and I don't touch my hair at all through the day!

help me 😞

thanks 😛

Re: dry shampoo

Living Proof Perfect hair day Dry shampoo is my favorite.  I have tried quite a few.  I think they sell a small bottle travel size for maybe $10.  I also like klorane, oribe.  I use the dry shampoo more during the fall/winter and not as much during the summer season.

Re: dry shampoo

Try Klorane's dry shampoo with nettle. It is my favorite and everyone I know who has oily/straight hair uses that.

But if you want something that's not white, try the one with oat milk. It has a little bit of a tint and doesn't create the white powdery look.

But I swear by Klorane.

I also love living proof, it is very effective. But very white

Re: dry shampoo

@victoriarose13 I am another for Klorane! I don't use a lot of dry shampoo myself, but when I do, I always reach for my Klorane. It applies well, doesn't leave a white residue in my dark hair and lifts my hair for another day. My friend who is a dry-shampoo fiend is also a big Klorane fan, after a quest to find a favourite.

RE: dry shampoo

Best is Oribe dry shampoo. They also have a texturizing spray. Doesn't leave white residue and smells awesome.

Re: dry shampoo

The best thing I have found is Triple Sec from drybar, which is a spray. It is a texturizer, volumizer, and a refresher. It was recommended to me by one of their employees. I would put it in the night before so that you don't have to tangle your hair trying to incorporate the white, which does not become flaky. Drybar also has a dry shampoo if you don't like this one.

Re: dry shampoo

@SammyKate  I agree with @Mcakes about E&J and with @SammyKate about Triple Sec (I also use that one on dry hair before curling it).

However, my all-time favorite dry shampoo is R + Co Death Valley.   It smells amazing, works well and does not leave whit residue in your hair.   The only downside is that it ia not carried by Sephora, so I buy mine from Birchbox.

Re: dry shampoo

@victoriarose13 I prefer the dry shampoos that are a loose powder.  My favorite was Alterna, but they changed the delivery system to a spray bottle (nonaerosol); I am also using Klorane (also the nonaerosol).  The bottle I like is the old Alterna with the nozzle; Oscar Blandi still makes his like that - his is fine but I don't like the smell.

The nozzle allows you to target where you want the product.  But I don't use it how it tells you to, which is to put the nozzle at the roots and squeeze.  I gently shake the bottle and it falls on my hair (I do it from front to back) and then I pat it in; then, I lift a layer up and apply there, and the hairline around my face.

I do this at night so that when I wake up, there is no trace of the whiteness of the powder.  I start about one inch from the part so that powder doesn't get stuck in there.

Another application idea is to put a little of the loose powder on a tissue, then apply it with a sturdy blush brush.

If you ever feel like you have too much product on, brush it through or quickly blow dry the area.

Good luck!

Re: dry shampoo

I agree with @Mcakes and her E&J Bourbon suggestion. It's what I've been using recently and it's probably my favorite dry shampoo, and I've tried a ton! The smell is absolutely intoxicating (heh heh...) and it's lightweight enough that I can use it a couple days in a row without leaving residue or buildup.

Re: dry shampoo

Dry shampoo was a tough one for me @victoriarose13 😞 Lots of trial and error!

Here's two of my favorites:

I have dark brown hair and these products don't leave a white residue on me after being massaged in. With your lighter toned hair I don't think you will have a problem with either of these at all!
