Suggestions?

Any tips or suggestions for a product that will help with my frizziness and split ends?

Re: Suggestions?

Hi @Rachel5143,

I recommend checking out Living Proof No Frizz Instant De-Frizzer 6.2 oz/ 208 mL .  It is a dry conditioning spray you can spray on dry hair.  The spray adds softness and shine to the hair.

I help this helps!

Best,

Steph

Re: Suggestions?

Once ends are split they don't grow back, regardless of what a "repair" product claims.  The best bet is to go to a good salon and get them cut off.  Then start using a high quality shampoo and conditioner, and use a moisture mask on your ends once a week.

VERB - Hydrate Kit: Smooth + Restoreis a good place to start.
ALTERNA HAIRCARE - CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Moisture Duo
is another, and what I'm currently using.

If you've been using the same shampoo and conditioner for over a year, give your hair a break and try a different one.

Also use a ionizing hair dryer, it really, really helps cut down on frizz.

RE: Suggestions?

@iridescentowl I’m not using any styling products but i just bought the John Frieda frizz ease serum and have only had the chance to use it once. I’m currently using the OGX shampoo and conditioner with argon oil. My hair is dryish and really wavy

Re: RE: Suggestions?

@Rachel5143 So, it sounds like you are looking to build an anti-frizz regime.  I rec starting with a sulfate-free shampoo.  My fave is Pureology Hydrate.  I know other BICers like it, and it was recently an Allure aware winner.

Next, you need a moisturizing conditioner.  I like Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm.  It's a big seller at Ulta.  Other good ones are DEVACURL - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner, Phytojoba and Neutrogena Triple Moisture (the one in the tub; I think it's technically a mask).

A silicone serum is a must-have, in my opinion.  I like Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.

My hair needs extra slip, so I also use Phytodefrisant.

I also rec It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product.  It really will leave your hair sleeker and healthier looking.

I have been putting John Freida Frizz Ease Extra Strength on my ends b/c I have such long hair.  But I don't think it's essential.  I personally think that one is too thick to be used on the lengths of hair.

Hair oils are great.  You can use them as a treatment, in with your conditioner, in with your styling products, so on dry hair (that's my favorite).  I love Matrix Oil Wonders (Egyptian Hibiscus) but I think it's been discontinued.  I also like It's a 10 Miracle Oil with Keratin, Alterna Kendi Oil (I own both versions)

and Josie Maran Argan Oil

I've also heard good things about Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Hair Oil

And Verb Ghost Oil

I like for an anti-frizz spray.  It's not a miracle worker, but it does make a difference.  I don't care for the LP Instant De-frizzer.

I also rec using dry shampoo so that you can't have to wash your hair as often, which can be damaging and lead to more frizz.  I like Klorane (the non-aerosol one).

Have you tried any Matrix Biolage products?? In Canada www.matrixprofessional.ca or in USA www.matrix.com . You can look on this website for the products that best suit your hair. Learn all about them, and what they can do for your hair. Then you can enter in your postal code to find a Salon near you, to purchase these products at. These products are Reasonably priced. They are condenced product (you are getting full product, no fillers). A little goes a long way. Always shampoo twice, condition once. There is a new Biolage product out right now, Oil renew. Its meant for dry frizzy hair. It really makes a Huge difference using Salon products, vs. drugstore products. Your scalp and hair will love you for purchasing Salon products for your hair routeen.

Re: Suggestions?

@Anonymous For drugstore I love using John Frieda's Frizz Ease line (they make great hair serums) and hair oil.
