Best straightening iron? Looking at the GHD line. Is the Platinum+ really necessary?

@LITTLEBLOOM  I haven’t used any of the GHD irons but heard mixed reviews on them. My personal favourite is  Drybar The Tress Press Digital Styling Iron A stylist at Sephora used it on my daughter’s hair and we fell in love with the results. I have mine for over two years now and using it constantly. It stays true to its name and I rarely need to have a second pass on any section of hair. My hair stays perfectly straight until next wash.

ghd Platinum+ Styler - 1" Flat Iron Black Self Adjusts depending on your hairs porosity up to 365F. This is much lower then other irons on the market however it does a remarkably better job. It has sensors inside that measure hair density and turn down the heat where you don’t need the extra heat (think delicate hair line) and turn it up where you do. It’s shaped unique so as not to pinch or grad your hair and is designed to be used by stylists who typically use their irons for hours a day. I’ve not heard of problems with them and I do work in the field. It’s important to not wrap the cord around the unit to ensure longevity.

@LITTLEBLOOM  I've seen various reviews stating that the GHD irons do not have a long life; I haven't personally used one but those reviews threw me off from purchasing one.

My favorite flat iron ever has been BaBylissPro™ Nano Titanium™ 1-1/2" Titanium-Plated Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron. I purchased mine 10 years ago and it is still in excellent condition and I use it often. They are available on Amazon.

@LITTLEBLOOM I second @bakeamuffin - Babyliss Nano Pro is amazing ! I had my first one for over 10 years used often 3-4 times a week and it still works (although I decided to get a new one) I still use the first one for travel/back up! I got mine from Ulta
