Stop the Frizz on hot climates?!

Can any of you beautiful ladies let me know what I can use to stop frizz when I straight my hair????

Re: Stop the Frizz on hot climates?!

@iselm Hot climate are so hard on frizz-prone hair!  Here's what I do to fight frizz:

Spoiler
Shampoo: Sulfate-free shampoos can really help.  I am currently in love with Pureology Hydrate.  I find it super easy to use b/c it lathers.

Conditioner: I am in love with Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm. Other good ones are DevaCurl One Condition (popular with BICers), Phytojoba and Neutrogena Triple Moisture (the one in the tub - very affordable).

Serums: Silicone serums are very important in fighting frizz, in my opinion. My favorite is Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. I also use it with Phytodefrisant to give my hair more slip when blow drying with a brush. I also use It's a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product; I spray it into my hands, and the apply.  It's important to just squeeze water out of your hair, then apply the serums - do not towel dry unless it is a microfiber towel.

If you flat iron, I really suggest a flat iron spray. It really helps keep away the frizz. My fave was just changed, though.  I personally look for ones with alcohol in them b/c I need the control.

Hair oils: Hair oils can do a lot to make your hair more manageable, and less prone to frizz. My fave for a long time was Matrix Oil Wonders; it was recently discontinued. I've been using It's a Ten Miracle Oil with Keratin and have been liking it.  Other good ones are Alterna Kendi Oil and Josie Maran Argan Oil. You can use them as a treatment, in with conditioner, as a styling aid, or on dry hair (I use it this way to help with frizz).

Anti-frizz spray: I discovered Living Proof Humidity Shield and it really helps! I use it every morning!

Hair masks: Also good for maintaining hair health - or at least the appearance of it! My favorites have been discontinued, so I don't have any recs for you.

Dry shampoo: I highly rec this, as it will allow you to wash/dry your hair less, which means less damage. I like Klorane and Alterna.

Best of luck!!!

Re: Stop the Frizz on hot climates?!

I switched from Redkin's Frizz Dismiss to Pureology's Smooth Shampoo and ordered the large 1 litre bottles from another Company.  I LOVE the scent of it and how BEAUTIFULLY it works.  And this was only after two uses.  I also bought their Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner set to use this Summer when I have my Hair Done this week for a Baby Shower.  I also bought their Pureology Colour Fanatic  Hair Treatment Spray and Deep Conditioner with 21 Benefits.
As for their shampoo goes, according to one Gentleman, you only need a Pea size amount or a little bit more in your hand.  You then rub your hands together, rub it through your hair, rub your hands together, do it until it is clean from your hair is clean.
He also says you do NOT want too wring your hair out, or towel dry it, but leave it wet.  This is where I made my mistake in the past and still have to keep in mind when I wash my hair.  You only need a Pea size amount (or more if need be), lather it into your hands, work it back and forth through your hair, rub your hands together and repeat until you feel it is gone.
It is a GREAT Product.I nearly use their entire line.
I've also ordered the Shhhower Cap in "The Laguna" colour.  If all the reviews are true, I think I'm going to LOVE it.
The other thing I use is the Aquis hair Turban, and waffle Towel.  I can't believe how helpful they are and how much moisture they take from my hair, which cuts down on my hair drying time.  Even though I use Dyson's Supersonic Hair Dryer, I don't want to make my hair frizzy.
Recently ordered the Aquis Waffle Luxe Hair Turban and Towel for the Winter while they are available to grab through Sephora.
I hope this helps.
I will be back to review other products when I receive them and HIGHLY recommend trying any of these products (if you have the money for each).

@iselm,

I always recommend using a hair oil on your ends to seal it and to make the hair look softer/smoother.

The Bumble and Bumble is a very light weight oil that gives hair a lot of shine.

Another option would be a spray on oil. I like sprays if your hair is a bit more fine as it will not weigh it down.

@iselm I feel you on that issue! One thing I've found really helpful is the briogeo leave in conditioner! It makes my hair really smooth. Also I switched to a frizz reducing shampoo and conditioner (john frieda) and the results really surprised me. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference but it totally did. Also, I mostly let my hair air dry but if I blow dry my hair I have to give my hair like 15 minutes to cool down before flat ironing it  or it turns into a puffy mess later.
