Shiny hair

Hi, I’m looking for hair oil, I have straight hair that is heavy but isn’t thick. What I am looking for is for my hair to shine and be more hydrated!
thank you so much

Re: Shiny hair

I really like the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil

Re: Shiny hair

OUAI Mini Hair Oil 0.45 oz/ 13 mL   is my go to! Smells amazing and is super light and buildable, I’ve been using it for 2 years now, forever my favourite

Re: Shiny hair

im looking for one too! one that woudnt be heavy on thin hair!

Re: Shiny hair

@rracheeell01 L'anza Neem oil Gives super shiny hair. I'm not sure anything else has given me such shiny hair. Unfortunately Sephora stopped selling L'anza but Ulta still has it. I like Verb dry oil, Gisou oil but they don't give the gloss that L'anza Neem does.

Re: Shiny hair

oh thank you! But unfortunately I live in Canada and we don’t have ulta:(

Re: Shiny hair

@rracheeell01  I totally agree with @GG84  recommendations and I would like to add COLOR WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Treatment Spray for Frizzy Hair   I love adding this to my blow dry days and it adds shine for days!! I have thin hair so I can’t use a ton of oil but this works wonders!

Re: Shiny hair

Would it still work if I don’t heat activate it? I don’t blow dry my hair, it makes them oily faster since I don’t have volume

Re: Shiny hair

@rracheeell01

No, Dream Coat is activated by heat.

Re: Shiny hair

@ather @rracheeell01 I was going to recommend the COLOR WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Treatment Spray for Frizzy Hair   as well.  I got a smaller bottle to try out and have been really enjoying it.  I have darker hair that can look dull at times.  Using this really helps for after the next wash as well.  I find it really does work best if you apply to damp hair and then blow dry.  I've tried adding it to dry hair and then using a curling iron for the heat factor and while it does look better than if I'd done nothing... it's better with damp hair then blow dried.

Re: Shiny hair

@ather agreed! Dream coat is the best!

Re: Shiny hair

@rracheeell01

Honestly, hydrated and shiny hair begins before you step in the shower. Go with this duo, you won’t regret it.
JVN Complete Pre-Wash Scalp & Hair Treatment Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL before you wash your hair, before you dry your hair JVN Complete Nourishing Hair Oil Shine Drops 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

Re: Shiny hair

@GG84 also, do I have to use both the oils you recommended together or any one of them separately would still work?

Re: Shiny hair

@rracheeell01

You can do whatever you want! I use both, if that’s not an ideal situation, start with the JVN Complete Pre-Wash Scalp & Hair Treatment Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  it really does make a difference.

Re: Shiny hair

@GG84 I just bought the JVN Complete Pre-Wash Scalp & Hair Treatment Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL .  Will that help with hydration, or is it more for shine?  Now idk if I should open it or not.  Your input would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks!

@greeneyedgirl107

Totally helps for hydration! When you wash your hair, you basically take away moisture and then put it back in with conditioner/masks. The pre-oil treats your scalp/hair BEFORE you get it wet and wash it, protecting it from the moisture loss from shampoo. That’s the purpose I use it for and have incredible results. I can DM you a pic of my hair.

Re: Shiny hair

@GG84 Thank you so much for the speedy reply and information!  I truly appreciate it!  Glad to see you posting again - I always try to read your posts!  ❤️

ETA: The directions say to apply 15 min before washing.  Do you do the 15 min, or apply it earlier?

Re: Shiny hair

@greeneyedgirl107

If it’s a wash day, I apply in the morning and use the oil to slick my hair into a top knot or pony tail then braid it and let it sit in my hair all day then wash it out in the evening. I don’t think I’ve ever just left it on 15 mins.

Re: Shiny hair

@GG84 Thanks so much for the pro tip!  💎

Re: Shiny hair

Would the second one still works if I air dry my hair? The blow drier makes them more oily since I don’t have volume
