Recommendations Please! Dry and Damaged Hair!

Can someone recommend either a conditioner or a hair mask for dry and damaged hair? must be color safe for I have blonde highlights. On a budget so no luxury items unless highly recommended please. Thank You!

Re: Recommendations Please! Dry and Damaged Hair!

The first mask that always comes to mind is the Macadiamia oil mask, which I've been using for probably about six years now.  A tub is generally a little pricy, about $30CAD for the largest size but it lasts even me the longest time.  I typically stock up when Shoppers Drug Mart has an extra points promotion and pick up a few other essentials.

I use it twice a week in lieu of a thinner conditioner.  My hair has been through some stuff so it needs the extra TLC.  I find I can normally get six-ish months out of a tub, working it from my ears down.

Another miracle product I've been clutching onto is Olaplex #3.  I go through this much quicker than the mask, using it as my first step when I start washing my hair.  My hair is lightened quite drastically, so I like to use the bond repairer once a week-every other week depending on how close I am to my next lightening session.

Re: Recommendations Please! Dry and Damaged Hair!

@TravelDreams For masks, I like Ojon Restorative Treatment, and Phytonectar.  For conditioner, my current favorite is Deva Curl One Condition, but Phytojoba is good; Neutrogena Triple Moisture is also good and inexpensive (get the one in the tub, not the squeeze tube).  I've also read that if you leave any conditioner on for long enough that it gives you deep conditioning.  So maybe you could try a drug store brand you like, and keep it one for 20-30 minutes.

I also think you should consider hair oil.  Also, a hydrating conditioner.  Wash your hair as infrequently as possible, and use dry shampoo to help get you in between washings.  Silicone serums are also great to make your hair look silky.

Good luck!

Hi TravelDreams,

I love the Drybar Bay Breeze Hydrating Shots! The hair mask not only helps dry strands, but also promotes scalp health.

Also, they're easy to bring with me if I'm traveling, which is always a plus 🙂

Re: Recommendations Please! Dry and Damaged Hair!

@TravelDreams Hello, I responded to your previous post regarding the same question. I do really recommend the Nexxus Vitall 8 in 1 hair mask (found at Target, Ulta, etc). Like I said before, my hair is also suffering from being dry and damaged and this heat isn't helping so I know where you're coming from. Every time I use the mask my hair is soft, smooth, and fuller. The hair mask is only $3.99 each and each packet will last at least 2 uses. My personal suggestion would be to not wash your hair everyday as well, since the overuse of products could be a culprit in the dryness.

I suggest going back to your other post to see what other people have recommended!
