Help! CHI flat iron breaking off hair

Since my CHI flat iron doesn't have heat settings, it has been frying my hair and pulling it a lot lately. It has broken off hair from the back of my head. I'm looking for a new flat iron under $100, for fine, fragile hair! Suggestions please!

I have bought very expensive ones from HSN and beauty supply stores and Ive bought cheap ones and the only one that didn't snag,wasn't hot enough,etc. was a $20 one from Walmart that had Titanium plates.Promise won't regret it!

@HeatherLynn7 is your hair completely dry first? If you have a cream, put that on as a barrier in between the heat and let the tool touch the hair for shorter time.

I have thick hair, so can't recommend. Someone else is sure to come along.
