Hair styling cream recommendations?

Hello All!

I have 2a/2b hair and have been wanting to wear it more natural lately since I usually only wear it down when it’s blown out. I was wondering what hair styling cream yall would recommend to help define my hair and keep frizz away? I think my hair tends to like lighter products more. 

I’ve tried Dae once and liked it. But if yall think anything else is better please lmk

Hey @Carolina0121, I totally get the struggle my hair is a mix of 2a/2b too, and I’ve been on the same journey trying to embrace the natural texture without dealing with frizz or heaviness. I’ve tried the JVN cream you mentioned, and it’s nice, but I found that it sometimes weighs my hair down a bit if I use more than a dime-sized amount.

One product that really surprised me (in a good way) was a lightweight cream from: fivestarbarberbrand.com , it’s technically marketed toward men’s grooming, but their stuff works so well for textured or wavy hair regardless of gender. Their team focuses on high-quality, performance-based products, and the cream gives great definition without that sticky residue. I use it on damp hair, scrunch a bit, and air dry. My waves stay soft, defined, and frizz-free all day.

It might not be as hyped as some salon brands, but I’ve had better results with it than a lot of the mainstream options. Worth a try if you're looking for something clean, light, and effective.

okay a little controversial w this one and i dont think its on sephora but GIRLL miss jessies curl gel is AMAZINGGG i have 2a hair and it holds so well and you only need like a pea size amount bc its so heavy.

also not your mothers is AMAZING my friend has 2b hair w highlights and i swear her hair looks amazing.

also from asking around a lot of 2a/2b gals like verb (i've never tried)

THE OUAI WAVE SPRAY CHANGED MY LIFEE i love ouai girlie my heart goes out to that wave spray it always makes my hair look flawlesssss!! a cheaper substitute that works just as amazing is the pacifica wave spray 😊
