Hair Makeover

I have thick, color treated medium length hair and am in need of a total product makeover. Hairdryer: Things I’m considering ghd air professional vs dyson vs drybar vs babyliss...or other? Straightener: Heard the babyliss or chi was good... or another suggestion? Curler: Tyme pro or a curling wand maybe? Shampoo/conditioner/heat products: Definitely need something to use before all that heat.. again, hair is thick and color treated

@a1ewis23 hello, I'm a hairstylist. If I add my two cents... There are two types of motors blow dryers use. AC and DC. Without getting too technical, the biggest difference between the two is the life cycle of the motor. AC will typically last 700-1200 hours while DC will last 400 - 700 hours.

@GG84 do you know which type of motors Butter cup is?

@bakeamuffin I don't shop at retailers for hair products/...

@bakeamuffin I don't shop at retailers for hair products/supplies as I get them at cost. Drybar is a retail line so I've never come across it, however if it is marketed as a professional blow dryer then it must state on the box somwhere which type of motor it has (canada only).Dyson is the exception to the rule as it contains neither type of motor, they have a new technology all together.

That's really good information to know.  Thanks, @GG84!

RE: Hair Makeover

I’m voting for the DryBar Buttercup blow dryer, the DryBar Wrap Party Styling wand, the Babyliss flat iron (I’ve had one for 6 years and it still works so well, it’s golden). The Verb Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner are my favourite, they’re safe for colour treated hair and work well. I use the Hydrating hair mask once a week to keep my hair smooth, hydrated and manageable. The Ghost oil is incredible! You use a little bit when your hair is damp as a heat protector and then once your finished styling you can use a drop and run it through your hair with your fingers to contain frizz, body shine and hydration.
