Hair Dryers - cheap vs expensive

I'm looking at getting a new hair dryer, I've been using ones from Conair for the longest time and was wondering...is it actually worth it to get those fancy tourmaline, ionic, ceramic ones? Would a $40 ionic Conair work the same as a $100 one?

My hair isn't that unmanageable... it just gets more static-y in the winter... do those fancy hair dryers actually help reduce static?

Hi! Using some of the more expensive Hairdryers are actually better for your hair. They are not as harsh as some of the cheaper ones, which can in turn lead to healthy, smoother hair. I personally use Chi Hairdryers. They help protect hair from heat damage and dry your hair quicker than your average one.

Agreed, @Meg557

I've found that better quality hairdryers (in general) dry faster than cheap ones too. So not only do I save 5, 10 minutes on drying time, but that's also 5-10 minutes that I'm not exposing my hair to damaging heat from cheaper dryers!

I agree with this as well. The more expensive hair dryers are definitely worth it. I also have easy to manage hair but the better hair dryers dry faster, leave the hair less damaged and in general, last longer.
