HELP FOR CURLS?!?

So I have naturally curly hair and I have no idea what to do to protect it. My mom has the same type of hair and she doesn't know either. Can antigen recommend some products or does anyone have some tips to help? I know for sure that it's bad to use heat products, but what else?

Re: HELP FOR CURLS?!?

I've found that keeping it in a braid while idle/sleeping helps protect it just by keeping it from moving around and thus preventing if from catching and tangling.

I have dry curly hair and I second shea moisture products. I use their curly moisture shampoo with John freida frizz ease conditioner and alternate in the shea moisture deep moisture mask once a week. The best thing you can do is make sure to only wash your hair every other day at most. I use kinky curly knot today and OGX coconut oil when I get out of the shower on soaking wet hair and smooth it over the cuticle while squeezing out excess water. Then I shake out my hair and let it air dry. Hope this helps!

Re: HELP FOR CURLS?!?

I have thick natural curly hair. I have tried about everything, cheap to expensive treatment. I use coconut shampoo and conditioner then I use the ORS olive oil hair lotion and I haven't looked back. I put it on hair wet, pull thru hairband twice in ponytail an the last I pull thru about 3/4 way thru so it is up. I leave my hair up like that for at least a day and when I take it down it is silky, shiny and awesome curls. This is the only way I can stand my curls. I did try argan oil if I ran out of the ORS but hated it, I make sure I have it on hand at all times. Regular coconut oil (in cooking oil isle) works to but I will stick to the ORS.

Re: HELP FOR CURLS?!?

I would use moisture rich conditioners and sulfate free shampoo. My favorite curly brands include Shea Moisture and Devacurl. And air dry hair when possible instead of blow dryer.
