Dry shampoo

has anyone ever tried dry shampoo? Can it really extend a blowout? thanks

Re: Dry shampoo

@hunrun I am in love with it!  My faves are Klorane and Alterna.  Highly recommend it!

Re: Dry shampoo

I don't know about blowouts because I don't really style my hair that way, but it does allow me to go a few days between washes. I can typically wear my hair down the day I wash it and the day after, then I can wear it up for a couple of days before I need to wash it again. I've also trained my hair to only be washed a couple times a week, and I don't use a lot of products that cause build up or strip my scalp of natural oils. Depending on our hair care routine, you mat only be able to get away with one day between washes. But I do use dry shampoo on my non wash days. Just a quick spritz on my crown the next day, then some around my hairline and temples on the days I wear it up. My favorites are Dry Bar Detox and Elizabeth and James. Nirvana Bourbon is heavenly.

Re: Dry shampoo

Dry shampoo is AMAZING. My favorite brand is Batiste - I buy it at Target. I've tried a couple other brands like Herbal Essences, Tresemme, etc., and they worked, but gave my hair a weird, stiff texture. Batiste makes it feel clean with no weird stiffness. Granted, I have not tried any of the salon brands, but I'm perfectly happy with my 5.99 can of Batiste.

If you try it, put it in the night before when you're going to bed. That gives it time to absorb the oils and get rid of any powdery residue.

I wouldn't trust it 100%. If you keep your hair well wrapped every night your blowout should last longer.
