Dry Shampoo

What's your favorite dry shampoo? I've tried a few and I feel like they don't do much, other than leave my hair oily and flat.

Re: Dry Shampoo

I LOVE Not Your Mother's dry shampoo as well as Lush's "No Drought." NYM is really inexpensive and you can find it at any store (Target, Walgreens, and I find it at the grocery store too). No Drought is a little more earth-conscious since it doesn't come in an aerosol can. It takes a few times to get used to it, but a bottle of No Drought lasts me forever (I usually go through a can of dry shampoo in a couple weeks because of my oily hair).

Re: Dry Shampoo

I have very oily hair naturally, and the dry shampoo that I have seen the most benefit from was DryBar. I loved everything about it! It helped my hair look healthy, and didn't leave it dried out or brittle.

Not your mother's makes an awesome dry shampoo and you can pick scented, which scent or unscented plus they sell it at wal-mart so it's super inexpensive!

Batiste is the best and they all smell so so good!!

Re: Dry Shampoo

Klorane is rather good)

Re: Dry Shampoo

Batiste is my absolute FAV!

RE: Dry Shampoo

Not Your Mother's is literally the best brand ever

Drybar Detox dry shampoo is the best!

Drybar Detox dry shampoo is the best!

Re: Dry Shampoo

I felt the same way you do when I was trying out dry shampoos at first @Koonie! I finally have found two that I absolutely LOVE and can't recommend enough. I also have dark brown hair for reference 🙂

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day:

If you want just a clean scent, this is for you! Don't be nervous when it comes out white. As soon as you let it absorb your oils and shake it out you won't see it at all.

Nirvana Bourbon:

This one has more of a perfume scent as opposed to a clean one but I really enjoy it. Just so you know, both of these come in trial size so if you want to get those first before investing in a full size you have that option 🙂

Re: Dry Shampoo

Favourites are Klorane and Amika Perk Up. I really dislike Batiste and Not Your Mother's... the smell was way too strong and not in a good way, and they look powdery, even when I try to brush it through a million times. Drybar is pretty good too, though not a favourite. Verb was meh.

Re: Dry Shampoo

Bastiste is still my favorite. Its one of the only dry shampoos that comes in colors so I can get dark brown. Honestly no matter how good other dry shampoos claim to be at being rubbed in bastiste is still basically the only one where I end up sign no white caste at all

RE: Re: Dry Shampoo

You HAVE to try Dry Bar's dry shampoo for brunettes! It's AH-Mazing! I was hooked on Batiste until tried it. And it's pigmented enough to blend roots between color.

Re: Dry Shampoo

@Koonie I like Klorane (the nonaerosol one) and Alterna.  Verb is "OK."  Bumble & Bumble is just "acceptable."  Stay away from Captain Blankenship.  Oscar Blandi used to be my go-to, but I got tired of the smell and found Klorane and Alterna were better.  I personally don't care for the aerosol spray ones b/c I find them hard to use; but a lot of people love them so you don't just have to take my word for it.

For success with dry shampoo, it's best to use it "before" your hair gets greasy.  Good luck!

RE: Dry Shampoo

You should try the Elizabeth and James dry shampoo! I have the white one and it smells amazing; I believe they have another scent in a black bottle which I haven't tried yet. I also have very oily hair as well and this dry shampoo just sucks all the oil up. Although it's a little pricey, it is really worth it!

RE: Dry Shampoo

personally, i loooooooove the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo. it's drugstore & suuppper cheap! gives me tons of volume & combats oiliness. the one con i have is that, unfortunately you really have to work it into your hair & brush it through. otherwise, you're left with that chalky, white cast. i hope this helps! 🙂

Re: RE: Dry Shampoo

Definitly gonna try this!
