Dandruff/ Dry scalp

Hello everyone! So I need advice. I have an incredibly dry scalp and the worst dandruff. Nothing I've done helps. I have deep moisturizing shampoo, Tea tree shampoo and conditioner as well as a tea tree scalp treatment that i use every 3-5 days. It doesn't help. Just barely scratching my head makes it look like its snowing (terrible, I know.) Please, please, help me!

RE: Dandruff/ Dry scalp

I would suggest using the Moroccan-oil brand, I use the moisture repair shampoo and the smoothing conditioner but don’t put the conditioner on your roots. After showering I do a pump of the moroccan oil treatment and a pump of the smoothing lotion. I mix them together and work it in, again don’t work into roots because it’s super intense. Then comb through (I switch off between blow drying and air drying but the routine works for both). I do have shorter hair so all I need is a pump of each. It’s amazing my hair is so soft and smells amazing and feels so light weight, it is expensive but it’s the only hair products I’ve tried that are worth the price. Be sure not to wash you hair everyday because that will strip it’s natural oils, causing dry hair. I honestly think the have the best products!! Hope that helps!

I third the dermatologist idea but if you can’t make it to one I’d suggest Nizoral. I get mine from amazon. If you go to the dermatologist there’s a good chance you would come out with a prescription for the prescription-strength version of the same thing (ketoconazole). Maybe it’s worth even trying first because it might just do the trick. And i know this is awful! I had the worst time with it for so long. So embarrassing and frustrating.

@Anonymous,

I agree with Beadshopgirl.

I suggest consulting with a dermatologist to see if they maybe able to help!

You might want to check with a dermatologist to determine if you have regular dandruff or something else like sebhorreic dermatitis or a fungal infection. Barring that, I’ve had good results using Lush Soak and Float shampoo bar, and scalp oil from Earth’s Nectar.
