Damaged bleached hair

My hair was bleached for a balayage. They did a really bad job and really damaged it. I have naturally straight hair but now when it dries up after washing it, it just gets all frizzy and ugly. I’ve tried all types of shampoos but I’ve noticed the ones that are to repair make my hair too oily. Has this happened to any one else?? If so what shampoo and conditioner has worked for you guys?? Please help I’m desperate

Re: Damaged bleached hair

Ola Plex is your friend but don’t overuse it as it is one of those products that will give you awesome results the first time but your hair will get dry if you replace your moisturizing products with it.

Bleached and damaged hair takes more time to manage than healthy hair so you may be in for a bit of work for the next year or so as you wait for the damaged hair to grow out.

Using shimmer sprays gives you back some shine without making your hair greasy but doesn’t actually help repair the hair.  It may help to do hair repair treatments at night when you’re not as concerned about looking greasy.  ;). @jessicaariza1

Re: Damaged bleached hair

@heartsmyface It is impossible for Olaplex to dry out your hair. OLAPLEX - Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3

contains no protein, silicones, sodium, parabeans. It is not a surface level treatment, it is an internal treatment that must be followed with either a protein or moisture mask. It works to cross link the disulfide bonds (ss bonds) and bond them back together. There is absolutely nothing that is drying. Once you've washed it out, as mentioned you must address the surface level issue. If your hair is lacking protein then a protein mask or if its lacking moisture- a moisture mask. I Olaplex several times a week and my hair is far from dry.

Thanks for using OLAPLEX!

Re: Damaged bleached hair

I was stating that because they don’t have instructions on the bottle not to replace it as a conditioner.  The average person may use it as a conditioning mask as I did when I first used it.  @GG84

Re: Damaged bleached hair

@jessicaariza1,

I have had this happen as well! When your hair is bleached or overly processed it can change the texture of the hair. My hair is normally pin straight however, if it is bleached too much it tends to look frizzy and wavy.

I highly recommend using a hair mask, sulfate free shampoos and a hair oil on the ends at night! I have been doing this for awhile and it has saved my hair!

THANKS FOR THE LOVE ❤️

Re: Damaged bleached hair

Hi @jessicaariza1 ,

I get babylights every couple months and I've found that the @Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance® Strengthening, Hydrating Hair Repair Shampoo for Medium Hair 8.5 oz/...& Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance™ Strengthening Hair Repair Conditioner 8.5 fl oz/250 mlare amazing on my bleached hair! I also love using the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Hair Mask 8 oz/ 237 mLwhen my hair needs some extra deep conditioning. I don't find that the Olaplex leaves my hair oily after washing. A little bit goes a long way and I've definitely noticed a difference.
