DIY Hair Masks

Hello my friends,

After resolving some family and life business, I'm ready to get back onto my hair growth journey. I neglected to get my hair trimmed last year and I know I'm going to regret it at the end of the month when I go to get the dead ends cut off. I've been reading some conversations on here and scowering the internet and I have 2 things in particular that I wanted some feedback on, whether you've tried it yourself or known someone who has, etc. Also, is there anything else you guys have tried that has worked? I don't care if it's a DIY or something you bought in a store or online. I'm very open to suggestions and desperate.

The first one was a DIY hair mask from a girl on YouTube that supposedly grew her hair overnight. Her ingredients were:

2 Eggs

4 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon honey

(saturate hair and leave in for an hour and rinse)

THEN

Melt 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil in microwave, saturate hair, cover head in plastic for minimum of 8 hours, then rinse.

I also saw a second one that was a DIY from a famous celebrity hairstylist. Their mask was to be left on for an hour and rinsed out, the ingredients are:

1 cup raw, unrefined coconut oil

1 tablespoon jojoba oil

1 tablespoon macadamia oil

1 tablespoon almond oil

1 teaspoon vitamin E oil

Thank you! ❤️

Re: DIY Hair Masks

Hi,

Im from South Asia ( Pakistan/India) region. And the women in this part of the world have fantastic hair. Genetics obviously help but aren't the sole reason, women here are seriously into hair care, but not the western chemical kind, we use a lot herbs and oils to maintain and help our hair. Some time back I had destroyed my hair from dyeing, meds  etc.

I started using some of the suggestions on this womans chanel  for oiling and hair masks and it has made a huge difference. This stuff is a little messy but well worth it, you do have to be patient because natural stuff takes time, you wont see true results for at least a couple of months. NOTHING happens overnight.

Re: DIY Hair Masks

Don't neglect diet as well as a very helpful tool. Women in South Asia also consume more real than processed food, healthier grains, better fats through fish, and plants  and herbs with almost every meal. We're all chemical soup and what we take in affects our hair, skin ... everything! Products alone can't overcome a bad diet!

Hi @munchkinx3

Good to hear that your ready to take care of your hair again, sometimes life just gets in the way.

I've been a stylist 18 years, there is nothing on this earth despite what any You Tuber tells you that is going to make your hair grow overnight. There is also nothing that is going to speed up your growth cycle. Anything that claims to do so is simply stretching your hair bond to make it appear longer.
