RED ALERT YALL!!! I had to run over here and tell you about my experience with the new color wow dreamcoat spray. Let me start by saying, I’m a huge Color Wow fan, I love the regular dreamcoat spray. Now…. I live in New Orleans so I have hair that is frizzy beyond words not to mention it’s naturally curly and super thick. Well I got a lil too sassy and decided to try the new dreamcoat spray BIG MISTAKE. Despite my hair being curly and frizzy it’s in really good shape. Very health. Well I went to go get my hairdo the other day and the amount of hair that’s breaking is crazy. My hair has never done this before. I’m positive that’s what it was because when I sprayed it in and dried a couple sections I stopped using it because it was making my hair feel gross. Those are the same sections with breakage. Just don’t do it!! If you’re hard headed like me and decide to try it anyway at least just get a small bottle and not a big one like I did!!!
I feel your pain!! I just went and basically cut all my hair off to a bob. I thought my hair was just dry and brittle because of getting older ect. I started using Dreamcoat about 2 months ago/ at first I loved it but after about a week or so it started breaking really bad!! I thought the breakage was because of damage from recent highlights so I kept using it thinking it would help. Yesterday as soon as my stylist felt my hair she asked, what are you putting on your hair? She said it had something coated on the strands making it brittle, crunchy and extra dry! When she said coat it clicked. I told her and she said stop using that immediately!! My hair when I would wash it would feel awful, couldn’t hardly comb it due to ends so tangled. My stylist had to use clarifying shampoo twice, then baking soda to get all that off. My hair was brand new!! But I had let it go in not imagining it could be this product so what started over 2 months ago as hair about 3 inches below my shoulders is now an a-line bob. Please don’t use this product or be very very careful!!!!
@smacky2008 , #OMG I Stopped Using This #JustInTheNickOfTime 🙏 Thank You For Your Service!
This product almost put me into anaphylaxis. I still have the welts from the hives wrapping around my neck.
IF YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES- AVOID THIS PRODUCT. IT LISTS NONE- I am still researching what it is that I’m allergic to from this product.
It was so bad that I refuse to use any further color wow products.
I love the Moroccanoil Protect & Prevent Spray 5.4 oz/ 160 mL instead it makes my hair so soft and it smells amazing… also helps keep it from being so frizzy
Just found out the color wow dream coat is what was causing breakage, so mad!
I used wow anti frizz spray for the first time 2 days ago. It made my hair feel awful, super brittle, dry.and caused an allergic reaction that worsened over 48 hours. If you have sensitive skin or are suseptible to chemicals AVOID this product. I do have allergic reactions to dark permanent hair dye but have never had a reaction to any other hair product. Wish I knew what ingredient triggered this reaction so I could avoid it in the future.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!
I wish I could hug you. I’ve dealt with food allergies and environmental ones- none of the allergies I have are on the product label.
HOWEVER- I was getting hives on my neck to the point where I almost had to go to the ER. The took a Benadryl and it cleared up only to come back.
Then I saw my doctor for it and she was at a loss as it started on near/ on my thyroid glad. My thyroid levels were perfect.
The rashes were starting to wrap around my neck and were turning into welts. It was not systemic and it was local at this point- so it wasn’t something I was eating/ a new medication.
I remembered I just started using this new product and I only used it on the ends/ middle of my hair.. which touch my neck.
Washed my hair about 4 times super thoroughly. Washed my neck. Applied hydrocortisone.
My rash, hives, issues were all gone. It was all this product.
I am dealing with it right now! My hair was thick 3C 4B hair long down my back until I used the extra strength WOW Color and never again! I used the regular one first and should have stopped there. The regular one did a good job and I was happy with it. The extra strength was a huge NO NO. My hair was just coming out in small clumps in my hand when I would run my fingers through it or feel the ends between my fingers the ends would be left in my hand and on my clothes. I’m looking pretty pissed and my hair has broken off to nearly 2 inches in spots. Do not do not do not use this product.
Here is what it did to mine!!! I even went to a doctor thinking my hormones were off.
had to get a ton cut off because it had broken all over!! So mad.
when it causes breakage as bad as this I just told her get it off!!
The same exact thing happened to me. I have thick, coarse hair but it was in fantastic shape. I got compliments on the shine and the healthiness of it. I used this product once…and it was effective. Did a good job. I then used it months later and I began to notice my ends kinking up…almost like it was shriveling from the ends upward. It felt rubbery, dry and lackluster. Then…the breaking started. I have never in my whole life had my hair ever break like this. My hair is so strong normally that it withstands anything thrown at it. Until I used Dream Coat. I now have full sections of hair that have broken to 4 inches from my scalp. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.
Definitely won’t be getting that then, thanks for the warning ⚠️
Yes!!! Same here. Ruined my hair. I live in Mississippi. I have thick, wavy hair that I’m highlighting. It makes it feel weird, sticky, super tangly, just awful. So. Much. Breakage. Threw it away and used a different leave in tonight, much better.
Omg the same thing is happening to mine too!!!
could you get a refund or return it?! if you can you should get a refund!
WARNING - DO NOT USE COLOR WOW DREAM COAT!!!! Same thing happened to me! I JUST figured it out. It took awhile by process of elimination but I know it was the Dream Coat from Color Wow! It's awful. I've tried all kinds of oils and repair stuff. NOTHING has made any difference. I have to cut it all off now.
This is exactly what happened to me! I thought I was going crazy because I could not find anything saying this might happen. I used it once and it looked good but after my hair felt thin and fragile. I tried it again a few weeks later and this time it was 10x worse. It’s so thin and frizzy and damaged and it was in good shape before I used this.
part of me is furious but also I’m relieved to see these stories because I know now it’s not just me.
Same... Just figuring it all out. My hair is fine... normally some breakage due to color...but omg this is the worst ever. I was using it in the same place and there is literally all breakage there. RUN from this product. Throw it out.
I have to cut my hair too ! This product made me hair super dry , frizzy , and full of flyaways . It also thinned out the bottom of my hair. Horrible product .
I guess everyone is different because I have found the moisture from the new Dream Coat to be a much needed improvement. And you need to use less product to achieve great results so it is a better value for me. I have used the original Dream Coat about every third shampoo for years, but have always needed to finish with an oil and/or another leave in afterwards. I always applied the Color Wow coconut cocktail after washing before Dream Coat and usually the k18 mask every third or fourth shampoo in between which has really helped keep my fine hair strong and in good condition. My sister also has fine hair and she feels Dream Coat severely damaged her hair. I believe it's because you aren't supposed to use styling products or even heat protectant before blow drying with it. Id you have thirsty hair, you should definitely try the new Dream coat. I also like the IDK 4 in 1 and I'd like to try the Antisocial dry mask. I'm grateful there are so many good products these days. My hair at over 60 years old has never looked better.
