Bleach at home

Hi all,

I have a medium-dark brown buzzed hair and want to try to bleach and tone at home. Are there any products or how-tos you recommend?

If your hair is virgin hair, it will bleach faster and take color better. Since you said your hair is buzzed, only use 10-20 volume developer on the scalp. I recommend the volume 20, I find it does enough lifting (I used volume 30 on my roots, I learned My lesson). Try to avoid box bleach, and use the powder or cream formulas (ion has a nice bleach line and toner) you’ll also want some purple shampoo for cooler tones. I like the Amika Bust your Brass and the Redken blondage shampoo and conditioner. Last thing, if you need advice on bleaching your hair, I recommend searching up Brad Mondo on YouTube.
