Amika Bust Your Brass for everyday use?

I received a sample of Amika Bust Your Brass purple shampoo.  I am thinking about purchasing the full size.  I have very little experience with purple shampoo, but have read that purple shampoos can be drying if you used every day.  However, this particular product seems very moisturizing so far.  Can someone who has used this tell me if they found it to be drying over time? Did you use it every day, or alternate it with something else?

Re: Amika Bust Your Brass for everyday use?

I've been sampling purple shampoos for years, from luxe expensive salon stuff to harsh grandma-smelling treatments, and have used samples of Amika.  Not even kidding, the best one I've ever found is a cheap one from Jhirmack that sells at Walmart, Rite Aid, and even my grocery store.  It has natural oils and antioxidants that are great for hair and scalp, better ingredients than the luxe brands AND better results with no drying.  But even so, I only use it about once a week (I shampoo usually three times a week) because I don't want to strip the ashy tones in my color along with the brass.  Most importantly, my hair has more things going on than just the color, and I want to address those issues as well.  The most important thing is that you use it as often as YOU like it.  Whatever you buy, if your hair feels dry, rotate a less drying product in and adjust which you use to how dry your hair feels.  I feel it's important to rotate shampoos occasionally in any event to prevent excessive build up.  I personally wasn't impressed with Amika, the results don't justify the price for me and the results were too weak, but I had tried a bunch of other products prior to the Amika and become very picky.

@Mel231 I've been using the amika Bust Your Brass Blonde Purple Shampoo 8 oz/ 236 mL for about a year now and I haven't ever tried using it every day; I use it about twice a week and it doesn't dry my hair out at all.  I, like you, don't find that it's nearly as drying as most other purple shampoos that I've tried and twice a week is enough to keep the tone of my hair where I like it.  Besides, using it as my everyday shampoo would get a little expensive, lol.

Re: Amika Bust Your Brass for everyday use?

I used it every day after an inexperienced hair stylist didn't tone my hair well after bleaching, but my hair was incredibly damaged after that, so I'm not sure if it Bust Your Brass Made it worse.

Something I discovered recently is the Christophe Robin Shade Variation Hair Mask - Baby Blonde , which is super hydrating and smells incredible.  It is very pricey, though, but maybe if you tried this or another mask a few times a week, it could help with dryness?

Thanks for your quick reply! I have a sample of the Christophe Robin mask as well, and it is great.
