Happy New Years! What are your resolutions for 2025? 🎇🎆

Happy New Years everyone! 🥳 🥂

With 2024 is coming to a close I wonder what everyone has on thier resolution list for 2025?

I think every year being more active is on my to do list, but this year I want to set some real goals and maybe get some inspiration and input for everyone here on BIC. Maybe writing it down will help us stay on track. 😉

What are you hoping to accomplish in 2025? Do you set resolutions for yourself, what have you been thinking? 🤔💕

So I came up with a few new resolutions ideas for this year,

• Finish two books I've been reading 📚 
• Exercise 3 times a week
• Learn something new 😀

But I might add to this list, it's not finished yet. 

 

Tagging a few community members to chime maybe with some of thier resolution ideas for 2025 but anyone is welcome to share and contribute in any way they like.

@Titian06  Aww they are beautiful!!! They calmed down! Lucky!! Bowser is 8 months. We have 2 other kitties too one 15 year old and a 6 year old. I also know there’s feeling about not planning on adopting another. We didn’t plan on it either! But there was a cat hanging out on my street and I was feeding it and wanted to take it in because it was covered in bugs and I was scared the coyotes would get it but we ended up finding the owner so we didn’t. My husband loved the colouring of it so I said if we found another the same colour we would adopt it. He also wanted another male. We have 2 girl kitties. So maybe 2 weeks later this handsome guy popped up on the local spca account so we brought him home! It was fate! I’m glad your kitties got the best home ever! I bet they are happy and spoiled!

@ather -  Bowser will calm down.  He doesn't have anyone his own age to play with.  Your two adult cats aren't interested in playing with a kitten.  I've been through that (a 3 yo and 3 mo).  It'll work out; it just takes time. 🙂

@Titian06  Thanks!! 😊 fingers crossed! He plays a little with Peach (5) but I think she gets tired of him sometimes. My 15 year old Chanel wants nothing to do with him unless it’s nap time. 😴

Oh my how I adore those names and how cute, total sibling rivalry at its best you got a good snapshot thanks for sharing l! I need to get a cat I have a family cat but she’s with my family I’m actually visiting them now so I get to see her

@CynthieLu Thank you for the tag and thinking of me! This is a great thread idea for heading into the New Year! Some of my resolutions are:

• Continutle to stay consistent with work outs and eat cleaner.
• Putting my happiness first. I have learned I can only give my best self to my family and friends when I am at my best. This will be something I am going to be very mindful of in 2025. This includes things like self care, saying no to others and yes to me (inspired by @itsfi ).
• Low buy and sticking to it.

@Shosh85 Thank you so much 🙏. I totally understand you about being a people pleaser. It is an amazing thing to be in tune with others needs and feelings. I agree that we can't forget about ourselves. At least we are mindful of this now 💞

Excellent new year resolutions @Mellmars1185! I'm 100% on board with you. 👊 What is/are your favorite thing(s) to do to work out?

@itsfi Thank you 👊! I am not really enjoying my work outs. I think it is because I need some more variety. I am doing at home workout challenges that I purchased. I am currently rotating between 4 different ones. I have been doing the same ones for the past 3 years now. I think a yoga class would be something I would like to try. However, th at home workouts save me a lot of time commuting.

@Mellmars1185  Have you ever tried Zumba? I worked at 24 Hour Fitness a while back and really enjoyed taking those classes 😃

@Shosh85 I did try it once before. I felt like I didn't have the same coordination as everyone else. This was probably over 10 years ago now. I wonder if I would feel more comfortable doing it now. However typically, I feel like I need to have a 🍸before dancing infront of others, 🫣

@Mellmars1185  Haha! I feel the same way about dancing in front of others! I'm a total introvert and sometimes a little alcohol definitely does the trick to help loosen me up and be silly 😜 😅 I wasn't too coordinated either, but luckily because I worked there I knew a lot of the people already and that made it fun and more comfortable for me. I know there are videos you can do at home too, but I can totally understand, it's not for everyone! 
When I worked in a dental office, the hygienist I worked with was a Barre 3 instructor, and I joined in on some of her classes and thought those were pretty great too!

If you do end up finding something you really like and can stick to, I'd love to know!

@Mellmars1185  Yup, me too! I was an EFDA certified dental assistant for about 10 years. I stopped working after the dentist I worked for retired and around that same time my two special-needs kids started requiring a lot more attention, so I became a fulll-time stay at home mom. You're not dental assisting anymore?
