Hello BIC friends, today I want to talk about gratitude! According to Psychology Today, practicing gratitude can have a whole host of benefits, including improving relationships and self-esteem, reducing stress and toxic emotions, and increasing happiness. The Mayo Clinic says feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood and immunity, while decreasing depression and anxiety. To remind us all to have an “attitude of gratitude,” I thought it would be fun to make a thread where everyone can share the things they’re thankful for. What (or who) are you grateful for today? Feel free to share whatever you’re grateful for – no matter how big or how small!
Today, I'm grateful for:
💜 my parents, for always being there for me no matter what
💜 @TeamBIC & all the BIC Community Ambassadors for all they do to make this community such a wonderful and positive place that I love
💜 Alpyn Beauty Willow & Sweet Agave Plumping Lip Mask .35 oz/ 10 mL which is saving my dry lips today!
It's been a while since I posted in this thread! I was reminded of it by the thread Wellness In Progress: April 2025 since one of the tasks for this month's wellness challenge is to practice gratitude! So today, here's what I'm grateful for:
💜morning cuddles with my sweet Frida! Fabian is more selective about his affection, but Frida is my little cuddlebug, she is such a sweetheart. if you look closely, you can see my black t-shirt is covered in white fur lol
💜music - this may sound strange, but I sometimes feel grateful to live in a time when all the music that's ever been recorded is basically at our fingertips at any time, thanks to the internet. There is so much amazing music out there, and listening to my favorite music always brings me joy. Do you have any favorite songs/musicians? What are you listening to lately? Feel free to share in 🎶✨Song of the Day and Music Thread!✨🎶 !
💜my boss - I am very fortunate to have a boss who's so understanding and supportive. I am in the process of looking for a new job, since I need something that pays better, but I will be sad to leave my current job since I love my coworkers and my boss. I know I've been very lucky with both!
@caitbird - Love this pic of Frida! 💝 I do miss seeing Fabian, maybe one day. I completely agree about music. It has been a very important part of my life.
@greeneyedgirl107 I love both of those things! Christmas music is one of my favorite things about the holiday season, and scented candles - seasonal or otherwise - are such an enjoyable and simple way to get in some aromatherapy anytime.
Recently I have been participating in the Wellness In Progress: November 2024
thread (which you all should definitely check out!). One of the wellness bingo tasks is to practice gratitude, which reminded me that I've been neglecting this thread! So I wanted to give a shout out to a few things I'm grateful for today:
💜 my brother - we definitely have our differences and there are days when I feel like we have nothing in common, but honestly I'm lucky to have him as my brother. He's a good guy and can be surprisingly thoughtful (he gave me a sweet card and a gift card for my birthday this year), and he's got a great sense of humor and is always fun to talk to and hang out with.
💜 my pets (my 2 cats Fabian and Frida, as well as my parents' dog Sunny) - I truly believe animals are one of the greatest gifts of this world, and I've been lucky enough to share my life with some very special ones. Whether it's cuddles with my sweet kitties or laughing at Sunny's goofy antics, they never fail to lift my mood and I'm grateful for them every day.
💜 my friends here in BIC - I feel so fortunate to have found this wonderful welcoming, supportive and inspiring community a few years ago and to have gotten to know so many amazing people here! You all are awesome and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for always lifting me up and making BIC the great community that I love.
I could list so many more things, but I think 3 is a good number for now. I'll be back another day with more!
What are you grateful for today?
This is such a beautiful and thoughtful thread @caitbird that’s so sweet you are close with your brother and he made your birthday special, I’m so glad to hear your amazing connection with your pets, and it is truly an honor to interact with you here at BIC it’s such a cool place I have similar thoughts about it too 😊❤️
@peculiarzmakeup thank you so much! BIC is definitely a special place, I am so glad to be part of this community 💜
Those are 3 fantastic things @caitbird 💕
Animals are just so special, and so are friends and family. This life journey wouldn't be as grand without them. 💜
@CynthieLu that's so true, that is such a good way to put it 💜
@caitbird - I am grateful that my handsome 18 yo cat Ivan is still alive. Two weeks ago this Tuesday, I thought he was either going to die or I was going to have to euthanize him. Fortunately, he survived and is now doing much better.
Before at vet.
Today, two weeks later.
What a blessing Ivan looks so sweet I’m glad he is feeling much better ❤️ @Titian06 I reread the comments I’m sorry for your loss, you were a light in his world 🌍
