I've been chatting with some fellow coffee addicts over in the Random Thoughts thread but I thought maybe I should make a separate thread.  So let's discuss anything/everything about coffee!

I just got the Peet's Sumatra blend in the k cups and I really like it!  Need to make a note to try their Major Dickinsons Blend since it's so popular.

So I went in to Starbucks last night and the barista tells me he doesn't have the chestnut praline latte topping any more!  It doesn't even taste as good without the topping 😞  So I guess it's almost gone.  Luckily, I have one free drink and after that I will stop going there until next holiday time when CPL comes back.  

Also, I had no idea the syrup for these drinks are available to purchase in grocery stores!  Has anyone seen the chestnut praline latte syrup?  I looked on Amazon and it's 40 bucks!

Well, peppermint mocha is available at Starbucks year round now. I believe it was made permanent last year. But the other ones are hard to get sometimes like Chestnut Praline Latte.

That's exactly my story with the Caramel Brulé Latte! I order it until they stop having the topping and then I take a break from Starbucks for a while because I spent so much in Nov/Dec 🙂

I actually ordered the Caramel Brulé sauce from the starbucks website a couple of months ago. The barista had told me that she doesn't put anything but that in the coffee so I thought I could try at home! It's of course not exactly the same (no topping :() but it tastes really good!

Yeah so annoying!  The worst part is that my regular year-round drink got discontinued while I was getting the Chestnut Praline Latte.  So once I went in and they no longer could make CPL so I asked for my Hazelnut Macchiato.  They didn't have that either!  So I didn't go back till November (or maybe October).

Ohh see I looked for the CPL syrup on there but I guess its all sold out.  I had no idea that they sold it until it was too late for me to get it.  Next year I'll buy it earlier in the season so I can try it out at home.  I bet it's better in the store though.

Meeeee too!!! My favorite year-round drink was the hazelnut macchiato (or frappucino in the summer) and I was so devastated last year when they discontinued it 😞 I can still ask them to make me a hazelnut frapp but they don't have the drizzle on top. 

The barista told me that they sell the sauces in store too if you ask them - it's never advertised at the locations I go to but if you ask them they will do it. I think they just don't have the pumps to give you. I ordered the caramel brulé sauce online in late Oct/early Nov.

Yes, somehow the store versions are always so much better! I use my nespresso for the base maybe that's why i can't get the same taste.

The good thing about that is I save a lot of money by not going to Starbucks most of the year,  But it is annoying.  I'm lucky that I have lots of Peet's around me (I live not far from where they first started the company) but I haven't found a drink there that I would get every day.

That's interesting.  I never heard that.

Totally.  I have a Keurig and recently got a stovetop espresso maker and a milk frother.  Haven't tried to make any espresso drinks yet but when I do I'm sure it won't be exactly like the in-store version but I'll still drink it.

Edit: So I was out and stopped into my local Starbucks.  I was talking to a girl who works there who chats with me often.  So I just asked her about the syrup and she went into the back to check.  She had a bottle to sell me so I got it!  No pump tho but I don't mind.  I'm going to try it tonight!

Oh that's awesome!!  I have bought them online at Starbucks b4 (I have the Vanilla one at home) But I didn't know you could ask them.  So nice of her!  🙂

I had no idea either!  I just thought it doesn't hurt to ask and every time I go in there I chat with her.  So I guess since I'm so friendly with her she was more inclined to check in the back and sell it to me.

That's awesome! Yeah it strange how they don't advertise it but if you ask they will give it to you. If you ever order online you'll get the pump and then you can save it!

I know me too I try not to go more than once a week to Starbucks aside from the holidays because it's soooo expensive. I'm in Canada, so we have Tim Hortons as an alternative (much less expensive) coffee shop. I've never heard of Peet's, I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the US!

A Tim Hortons just opened up by me (I'm in the US), I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Do you recommend anything good for me to try? 😄

Tim Horton's iced cappuccinos are addictive! 🙂 Here they come made with cream but you can ask for a milk or chocolate milk base! Their regular coffee isn't the greatest, but they make a good french vanilla!

Yeah weird.  I bet I can find just the pump online if I look.  I did find foundation pumps online (just the pump not the foundation).

Edit: I bought the pump off ebay for $6.99 (free shipping).  Lots of ppl sell them there.  Found some at amazon but as I read through the reviews I would find that it didn't work on Starbucks syrup bottles.

I was going to try it last night but I stopped myself.  I already had too many sweet things yesterday.  I think I'm going to use it to replace sugar in my coffee too.  The barista told me I should use it up kinda fast.

I get in to a bad habit of going to Starbucks at least 5 days a week (well, when they have the chestnut praline latte) so now I won't be going at all.  Ohh I see.  Peet's is a much smaller coffee company based here in California.  It's nowhere near as prevalent as Starbucks (the stores aren't although across America it's not hard to find the coffee at the grocery store).

Yes me too during the holidays I was there almost every day! I've been doing well this month though, I've only gone twice, and they still have the caramel brulé!

I haven't been at all since I got the syrup.  I won't go until they bring back chestnut praline.  I did get a caramel macchiato from Nordstrom yesterday that was really good so I'll pop in there whenever I'm at the mall.

I was in Starbucks inside Safeway and found Pumpkin Spice via boxes and picked up an extra if anyone is looking for that...they are hard to find after the fall..

I've been obsessed with Peet's Holiday Blend K Cups this season and now I can't find them anymore!  I was hoping to get them on clearance now that the holidays are over.  If anyone happens to see them in their store and can get some for me I'd really appreciate it (and will reimburse you of course 🙂 )

Yeah I think it's gone.  I was hoping to get it at Target on sale once New Year's was over but had no luck.
