I know a few of us share a passion for crystals and jewelry as well as makeup so thought I would start a thread on this. Share your stash, finds, whatever!
@veronika23 I consider it more of a picture book! 🙂
@veronika23 Has anyone been to the gem and mineral wing at the Smithsonian? I've been wanting to go to see it, including the jewelry! I also love the gem and minerals section at the American Museum of Natural History.

@greeneyedgirl107 - I visited the Smithsonian on the annual family summer vacation when I was 10 years old (that was 40+ years ago). There are only two things I remember about the trip. The Hope diamond is one of the two. I will never forget seeing it!
@Titian06 Thought you might like this...a more recent setting they created. And supposedly the curse is just a myth!

No, but I also have been (and loved) to the Museum of Natural History's gem and rocks section!
Spent so much time photographing diamonds LOL
@greeneyedgirl107 I've been! That's where they have the Hope Diamond and I visualize myself stealing it heist style every time.
@alexasteph Wouldn't that be something? I only saw a replica at the Carnegie Museum. Is it bad that the number one thing I like about museums is the jewelry? Ha ha! I was at a diamond exhibit in NY years ago and someone actually made off with a piece - inside job! Saw the Krupp diamond and also my first pink diamonds. Memories!

@veronika23 I've always loved big jewelry, so I have been loving all the statement pieces these past many years. I am so sad to see smaller pieces take center stage. I think delicate things are pretty, but I just can't seem them well enough. Plus, I think a really easy way to look better is to put on some bling.
@greeneyedgirl107 I definitely love big pieces of jewelry too. I rarely do dainty things. They just don't seem to suit me lol
Oooh, I'm going to love this thread! I'll definitely have to post some photos of my jewelry collection (mostly antique).
I can't wait to see what everyone else shares!
@lmi82cool! I'm not really good with identifying era's... I just know what I like lol 😄
@greeneyedgirl107 @veronika23 I have bought most of my jewelry through Etsy. I've also bought some pieces at Exeter Jewelers (small jewelry shop in NH), Antique Velvet Gloves (online; based in the UK), and The Three Graces (online; based in TX). I mostly shop online because the antique jewelry supply in my area isn't that great.
My favorite eras are: Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau, and Edwardian. Basically, I like pieces made up until the 1910s. Most of the jewels I own are Victorian and I have an affinity for opals. 🙂
I also LOVE ancient and pre-Georgian jewelry! I hope to someday own some really old pieces. They're definitely out of my price range for now, though.
If you ever want to see something stunning, look up the Earring with Nike driving a two-horse chariot. It's an ancient Greek earring (they didn't find the pair, unfortunately) that's housed at the MFA Boston. It's even more gorgeous in person.
@greeneyedgirl107 I like going on Etsy, a local jewelry store and one of my big obsessions is Pyrrha. I mostly buy those via that local jewelry store though. And then just random places 😄
Ps: sorry can't reply to your reply... grrrrr I hope this gets fixed.
@veronika23 @lmi82 I admire antique/estate pieces as well! I usually don't post pics, but I might have to start with my jewelry collection. Where do you call shop for jewelry? I used to buy most of my statement pieces from Express; but I look all over, including Loft, Charming Charlie, etc. Back in the day J. Crew and Banana Republic had some great pieces; they were pretty expensive, though.
Ahhh what an awesome thread @veronika23! Thank you for starting this 😃, can't wait to see what everyone posts!
Love crystals, gems and jewelry!!
My favourite is the pearl. I love diamonds, but it's not like I have the cash to throw around and collect diamonds.
I started making my own jewelry this year, it's quite addicting!!
I love crystals!! I've been obsessed with crystals and gemstones ever since I was a kid. Will definitely need to take some pictures when I get home; I display many of mine within my succulents.
