how to cool down in hot bathroom while applying makeup

I am totally at a loss how I can apply makeup in my hot bathroom because of the lights that give off so much heat. My dad doesn't want to switch out the bulbs to a kind that doesnt give off so much heat, so I'm stuck with caking on makeup cause my face flushes red cause of how hot i am in there, or foundation sweats off/separates and then ruins my look. I'm this close to just doing my makeup at work so I wont be in that hot bathroom. My dad wont allow me to do my makeup in his bathroom where he has a window above his shower and gives off natural light. what can I do?

Hey @beautyluvr19

Nothing like having to apply makeup when it's too hot! During the summer, I like to keep a small fan in my bathroom. Cooling towels are another great investment!

Additionally, I spritz myself down with the Evian Brumisateurยฎ Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray repeatedly! If you want more targeted cooling, try Milk Makeup's Cooling Water ๐Ÿ™‚

I do have thayers cucumber facial mist toner that I enjoy leaving in the fridge overnight and use that to cool me down. I also need a battery powered fan to set on top of the toiletry cabinet to cool myself off. or I can put a damp washcloth in the freezer.

seems that I was able to cool the bathroom down by screwing out the outermost bulbs that gave out the most heat. I kept the middle two in and it still gives me enough light for makeup.

I would get a lighted mirror and if possible, not apply in the bath. The excess humidity can affect makeup's formulation. Cool, dry place is ideal. Also a small fan/cool compress to lower the skin's temperature before application.

Or you can purchase the LED strips on Amazon $20 for a decent set ๐Ÿ˜Š.I put mine around my mirror and on the top of my vanity table. They have white lights, warm white & all sorts of colors but I wouldn't recommend those for a makeup setup.I put mine around my mirror and on the top of my vanity table. I suggest ordering a lighted vanity mirror so you can do your makeup in your room.  I have heard raves about the nearly $200 one at Beautylish but inexpensive ones can be found online at Amazon for $20.
