Yearly Misses: 2024

Another year is gone, and with that should come a review of what products were fails.  Post here about what didn't work for you.

Re: Yearly Misses: 2024

Okay so first was the saie beauty bronzing drops i just didn’t feel like they did very much and they smelled awful.

Second the sol de janero number 59 so I didn’t really think they were bad but I didn’t like the smell at all also the whole thing about it attracting spiders was just to much.

Re: Yearly Misses: 2024

Very few true misses for me this year, mostly skincare things that went bad because I didn't get to them in time.

I got the MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 24HR Buildable Soft-Matte Foundation + Oil Control from Influenster. I have dry skin and this just wasn't it, although it's marketed as a hydrating, natural finish, which is why I tried it into the first place. Plus the pump didn't work great. I used twice and gave away.

The other is the amika Rising Star Volumizing Finishing Spray 5.3 oz / 165 mL (Thank you for the gratis Team BIC) which unfortunately doesn't jive well with my K18 dry shampoo. I don't find it gives much volume in my hair (thin but abundant) and when I've had dry shampoo in recently it kinda overly dries out my hair. And if I use it after my washes before dry shampoo, the dry shampoo I use after doesn't work well. I'll keep seeing if itll work to style my waves more than give volume but we'll see.

Aside from that, making sure I'm using up my stuff, especially the stuff more likely to go bad/is older.

Re: Yearly Misses: 2024

@greeneyedgirl107 - I decluttered my stash this year, specifically focusing on my lipsticks.  I don't recall exactly what may have been 2024 purchases other than two PMG lipsticks.  I tossed them both for the colors and the formula (MatteTrance) seemed worse than my others.  At least I bought them on sale.

Oh, I also tossed a couple of nail polishes for similar reasons.  The colors were OK, but the formula for the specific colors was awful.

Re: Yearly Misses: 2024

Great thread @greeneyedgirl107

for me it was

Elemis Pro-Collagen Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm

great product did not like the texture it didn’t work for my skin

and surprisingly as popular as it is

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm Treatment for Hydration + Nourishing Shine Vanilla Beige - sheer beig...

I just didn’t like the feel of it

I don’t think anything other then the feel of them were off I bet they are some people’s faves so I’m happy for that ❤️

Re: Yearly Misses: 2024

One recent miss was an Armani beauty lipstick.   It was billed as a peachy pink but was more like burnt apricot.  Wasn't awful but i would never wear it.

A big miss was an Amika oil...too thick for me.

And my T3 Lucea won't let me adjust the heat now.  I've never liked the digital component.

Re: Yearly Misses: 2024

Oooh I really enjoy your threads.  @greeneyedgirl107 A year in review let me think here. 🧠 🔍

I decluttered a few items this year that I just couldn't make work for me.

KAYALI VANILLA | 28 Eau de Parfum Travel Spray was a huge miss. I gravitate towards gourmands and vanilla but this one hit my nose wrong. I tried to layer it with some other scents but ended up saying good bye to after trying to make it work for a long time.

Another miss for me was

Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder - Tinted Primer & Foundation ( not universal, she's 🐐 I'm referring to the colored shades.) They started off great but somehow started picking up dust from just me opening them and using them. I had to clean the product before using it and eventually this just didn't sit as well on my dry kin as my favorite skin tint. ( Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Soothing Serum Skin Tint Foundation with Peptides + Ceramides 4 👌👌)
