If you're into all things beauty, you probably fell in love with some products this month. You probably also swiped left on some others. But that's OK - it comes with the territory and can even be fun. So please post the products that you weren't wooed by...and why. Hair, skin, nails - or whatever!
@CookieGirl1 yes!!! It was really gross, the shelf life needs to be adjusted on the bottle because it says 24 months and I've only had it open for 9
@lmaster I realized it briogeo uses more "Clean" ingredients and therefore less preservatives and whatnot but still, I can't believe that it expired that quickly!
@CookieGirl1 That's one of my concerns about the whole "clean" movement.
@SportyGirly125 the conditioner is still fine, so I'll use that up, not a repurchase unfortunately
Just one miss this month, the Farmacy Filling Good Hyaluronic Acid Plumping Serum 1.0 oz/ 30 mL. omg the scent on this is a big nope for me. It's REALLY strong, warm but sharp, and likely is the thyme/honey in the product but it nearly makes the product unusable to me.
Eww. @haleyvvvv
I hate a strong scent in my skincare. Lately there's been a bunch of products I'be tried that all have pretty much the same strong, almost manly herbal scent, and it has put me off several brands.
@heavyhedon For some reason I thought with the push for "clean" items I'd see less fragranced items. Of all the skincare I own, I believe only one product has fragrance. That's how much I avoid fragrance in my products. I also wish it were less prevalent in hair care as well. I've never been turned off by the lack of added fragrance to a product, but have been turned off many times by the inclusion of fragrance.
I dont love fragrance in my skincare especially if it's added, @heavyhedon. this one at least seems to be from the ingredients themselves so it's not as bad, but the scent just makes me gag a little.
Clinique chubby lip crayons in fruit punch. It could be just the color is not right for me. I found it to be extremely bright, in a bad way lol.
Its not really a product by depotting eyeshadow ain’t all it’s cracked up to be
@Anonymous --
Ha, true. I chipped two other shades getting one shade I didn't want out of the JP Douce palette the other day.
@greeneyedgirl107 -- essential background for this comment is that I LOVE the brand Fresh-- some of their items are so costly but they make moisturisers, washes, toners and masks I absolutely adore for the way my skin responds. There are always a couple of Fresh products in my bathroom, and I'm never without a tube of the Soy Cleanser. So a couple of years ago I tried the Strawberry Seed wash and wasn't impressed; I'd also tried other new skincare that month and got a little irritated. I felt I didn't give the wash a fair shake and may have used too much as well.
Nope! Sampled it again this week, and I hated it. The feel, the smell, and it's just on the edge of giving me a rash. Used it thrice to be sure, just because it's from Fresh; and I am sure that if I had a full tube, daily use would tear my face up. The last use went on my feet, and even they were not impressed.
This is the first & only Fresh product I've hated. Don't recommend for sensitive skin. From now on I stick to Soy!
Oh no, @heavyhedon!! Is it really grainy?? It sounds like a terrible experience!!
@haleyvvvv -- it is grainy; the grains seem to dissolve, but unless you use so much water that the scrub is made nearly scrubless, it's too scratchy for me, and a little drying as well.
@heavyhedon I can't use it by itself because I have sensitive skin. I like to add it in to my cleanser so it's not so harsh.
I have three monthly misses:
-The tarte SEA Hydroflex™ Serum Foundation -- thought I'd love it but I swear, that foundation aged me 30 years in 30 seconds. No bueno.
-I got the new MILK MAKEUP Sunshine Under Eye Brightening Light Coverage Concealer from Influenster and it's a no for me, dog. I hate the weird rollerball applicator and the fluid itself gathers and bunches into every fine line under my eyes.
-The Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask (got it in a Fab Fit Fun box). Sounds lovely, right? Nope. It feels like oily Vaseline on my lips and it smells like a weird combination of rotten apples and festering fruit.
Ewwwww.
@CookieGirl1 @Oh agree about that FFF lip mask - it was very strange. I tossed it while I was moving.
@Kim888 I honestly thought that I was going to like it based on the description but that was terrible.
