How do you use the beauty blender with powder?

I have two sponges one for my foundation and concealer and one for my under eye powders, but I am confused on is your supposed to wet the powder sponge then did into powder or use a dry sling then did into powder, then if you wet the powder sponge does that make the sponge cakey with water and powder?

I use the same beauty blender, still only slightly damp, and dip in the powder, then apply. I find it looks more natural and less “dry” this way vs applying wth a brush. Good luck! @SaintLeverett
