Re: Concealer

Have you tried to find her undertones ? Next time you go to Sephora maybe ask to get the color scan or shade finder. That helped me.

Re: Concealer

My baby is a light skin more like a tannish, but like I love how your beauty does it I don’t have no money, but like I like to scroll down and look at all the stuff do not mind my username because I didn’t find any username so I just wrote this one thank you

Re: Concealer

@kkheartssephora  A few questions to help us help you:

  1. Where do you apply concealer: just under your eyes, or also the center of your face as brightener, or maybe you spot-conceal wherever needed on your face…?
  2. When you say “they all seem to turn out bad,” what specific problem(s) do you see when you apply them?
  3. Which concealers have you already tried?
  4. What kind of skin prep do you do before applying makeup? (What’s your skincare routine?)

How I use concealer:

Spoiler
Before I apply any makeup, I make sure to hydrate and moisturize the heck outta my skin. I’m in my 50s and all my prominent wrinkles are under my eyes, plus I have rather textured hollow tear troughs. My facial skin is mostly-dry combo, and my undereyes are the driest part of my face. (Many people have dry undereyes, but for some of us, that skin’s very dry.)

I occasionally spot-conceal, but I mostly use concealer under my eyes. (I never use it as a mid-face brightener/highlighter.) Since all concealers crease—ALL of them, regardless of brands’ claims—I’m very strategic about where I apply undereye concealer and how thick a layer I use. I avoid putting concealer on my lines as much as possible, since most of my undereye darkness is in my tear troughs. If I do need concealer on more of my undereye skin, I use as thin a layer as I can. The more concealer I use on that skin, the worse it’ll look.

I usually powder-set concealer but I never bake, and I use the teeniest tiniest bit of powder necessary—so little, I can barely see it on the brush. (I use By Terry 8HA Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder—the loose translucent version.) This year I did a little experimenting with setting spray and primer instead of powder; I still need to do a full test series on that, to see if I can ever get away without setting powder.

Concealers I use most often:
