I haven't seen this thread yet, so here it is! Time for 2020 beauty resolutions. Skincare, haircare, makeup, spending, whatever you want! I have a new job and want to look more put together for it. These are my resolutions:
@CookieGirl1 Meeee too. I have a back up for my back up then I decide something else is my HG and I don’t use them 🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️
1- Take it easier with exercise, I'm causing a lot of trouble with my knees running so far on hard surfaces, run on grass or trails more.
2- Cut my spending waaay back. I'm shocked how much I spent this year even though I tried to low buy.
3- Wear more of my makeup hoard and lust less after every new thing. Kinda tied to #2.
Did you have a written out plan for your low buy @prettyinpa? I think writing things out and being specific can help you meet your goals.
@prettyinpa I know exactly what you mean about #2 I need to do that too. And not lust about everything I want. But i know I won’t and I always will have an excuse to buy everything!!!
@prettyinpa I’m waiting til 2020 to have any work done on my bad knee so I can burn my high insurance deductible. Meanwhile, I also need to take it easier on my knee. On one hand, that knee hurts so much sometimes, I can’t help but ease off it. On the other hand, it’s killing me—figuratively and probably literally—to not exercise as intensely as I used to. I really enjoy my at-home HIIT/Tabata routines and sometimes like my outdoor runs, and now I can’t do them without risking serious knee injury. 😞 I should add “get my bleepin’ knee fixed already” to my 2020 goals.
I hope you don’t have any serious knee issues! Grass and trail runs are a good idea.
1. Be better at removing makeup and starting my PM routine when I first come home from work (rather than wait until I fall asleep in the couch and then don't want to do it 🙂 )
2. Really focus on my riding so we can be more competitive in shows/events next year. I've started keeping a journal of our rides with what we worked on, etc - hopefully this helps
3. Use up my skincare drawer! I would like to empty it this year, and only re-purchase my HG's that work best with my skin (a moisturizer, a basic cleanser and makeup remover, retinol products) - everything else I have too much of and needs to go!
This also includes more routine masking - i have 2 drawer-ful's!
4. I know I will spend on the new TF palettes coming out, but unless it is LE I don't plan on buying any more makeup this year
5. Read my stacks of books! I would like to get through 2 stacks before buying more. (About 15 books).
6. Pay off 2 credit cards
7. Continue once a week spin classes every week (except if sick or out of town), maybe increase to 2x/week.
I know not all beauty related, but relevant to my life 😉
@Zpsid91 I'm with you on the credit card goal. Based on what I've budgeted I should be done with my credit card debt in a year. Then saving for my own house!
I feel stupid for asking, but the riding...horses? What kind of competitions?
@sprocketta - you got it! I event with my horse
Do you ride?
@Zpsid91 I don't ride and know nothing about it. Sorry to disappoint.
My resolutions are:
1. Wear more makeup and fix my hair more often. I need to stop hitting the snooze button to give myself more time.
2. Start exercising regularly again. Since I have a desk job now, I am not as active, so I have to make this a big priority.
3. Start a low-buy. I failed miserably at a no buy but I should be able to commit to a low buy. A lot of my spending this year was learning what products work best for me. Now that I know what to look for I can make better choices.
@faeriegirl -- Love / hate relationship with the snooze button.
That Snooze button is definitely dangerous, @faeriegirl. I use it too often and then I'm horrified when I realize that I have five minutes to get my butt out the door in the morning. *Raises hand and cringes* Guilty.
@faeriegirl I'm SO guilty of hitting the snooze instead of wearing more makeup!
1. Excersize
2. Be consistent with my evening skincare when I don't wear makeup
Ok so my new goals for 2020 are:
1. wearing more makeup. I was working a job where I was getting dirty and sweating lots and had to wear my hair up all day so I didn’t do much. I start a new job in January where I am an office assistant and I will get to dress up every day so this should be an easy one.
2. Exercise it least 3 days a week. Pretty self explanatory.
3. Step up my hair game. I want to use my hair masks it least once a week.
4. Stick to a self care routine. With my little guy I focus all my spare time on him so I need to set aside some time for myself.
@sprocketta Thank you!! It’s more my speed. I just took my current job because when my husband got posted I was on mat leave and we moved to a very small town so I took what I could until something better came up!!!
Goals I can realistically achieve next year:
I might add to this list as I think more about the topic. 🙂
@WinglessOne I hear you about the return windows! My friend got me a lovely gift from Sephora (DRYBAR - At First Crush Set) and while it is really luxuriant, I know the straightening brush won't be ideal for my hair, and it's too expensive to just keep. So now I'm in a mad rush to return it so she can get her money back - it was purchased on 12/9.
