Best Product for Bra Chaffing

I have these red rub marks on my skin all along where my underwire on my bra sits. I'd rather not go to bras with no wire, that just never feels like enough support. The chaffing get's so bad some times that it's a little painful.

I've tried lotion from bath and body works. I've tried oil-free unscented moisturizer from dollar general. I've also tried target brand up&up oil-free unscented moisturizer.

All of them give relief from the pain but chaffing/redness is still there year-round.

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

That's also possible @jozkid, I do wash my bras in the washing machine but do so on the gentlest cycle and we have a front loading machine. I'd never wash a bra in a top loader though!

My bras typically cost $50-$80, sucks having a "specialty" size which isn't so special but not available in many brands.

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

I'd gladly pay more for a well-fitting bra @k617. I really wanted to try Wacoal but they're not available in my size. The one I have is working so far but is it the perfect bra? Well...  the one thing I really wanted was front-closing because I have a rotator cuff issue and that's tough to find in my size. Oh to be a 32B. The possibilities would be endless!

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

@jozkid Wacoal, while having a better range still doesn't have the best. I sometimes am a 32G but if that size fits really small, I'm pooched since there is no 32H. I hate it when bra consultants suggest a sister size... just because a 32DDD fits me doesn't mean the 34DD would fit the same.

Bra Stop caters to an impressive range of sizes (28D-46K)  but I don't dare buy a bra online!

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

@k617 Oh the struggle is real!  Why the heck do so many women want to get their breasts augmented?  What I wouldn't give to be able to go bra less! Most bras in my size have about 27 hooks and steel rivets. Ok maybe a bit exaggerated  -  but only slightly!

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

I know, I have friends who complain about their 34C size, but then they talk about going braless for dresses and tops...NOT an option for me! Not to mention, I watch people at the gym wear their normal bras--also not an option! My chest would hurt! Any type of high intensity exercise requires a fitted sports bra coupled with a shelf bra too for me.

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

If you're outside of VS's size range try out Layne Bryant and Soma Intimates. They both do free bra sizing and Soma even has an online tool to help you find your size if you can't get to a store.

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

@JEM47203 In my experience they will not tell you that your size is outside their range and will try to fit you into something they have in store

Re: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

@JEM47203 I agree with @skcfan ...if you think you'll likely be outside of their range I would not trust them...in that case you may be better off looking into brands that will suit you better. Victoria secret bras can be so hit or miss anyways I only suggested it because I know they do sizing

RE: Best Product for Bra Chaffing

You can find an anti-chaffing powder at the drug store. I can't remember the one my husband used but it worked for him.
