Sunday Riley Good Genes

I see a lot of reviews mentioning that Good Genes seems to brighten skin, diminish texture, even make pores less noticeable. I've yet to see anyone say it helps with fine lines and wrinkles. I've read a lot of the reviews but obviously not all of them. Opinions?

RE: Sunday Riley Good Genes

Good Genes is one of the best products ever! Love this stuff.

Re: Sunday Riley Good Genes

I just ordered this. I should be getting it tomorrow.  I’m hoping it will help with fine lines, as well.

@dparker you will love it!

Re: Sunday Riley Good Genes

i left sunday riley for awhile, thinking there might be something better/comparable out there (and for less of a price sting) - i dabbled in herbivore, kiehl's, ole, shiseido, korres, you name it. there are some gem products from some of these companies. but within the last month i went back to sunday, and honestly, my skin has never looked better. it's brighter, more even, and soft as all get-out. i wear much less makeup and my skin feels like it's getting what it needs. hard to attribute all of this just to good genes (since i also have the vit. c products, luna, tidal, and the new eye cream), but on its own, good genes is one of the best acid products i have ever used. (i only use it a few times a week in rotation with luna to ensure i'm not aggravating my mildly sensitive skin.) worth a try if you can afford it and/or get a sample. i know there are lots of fans on these boards, so perhaps someone else will chime in one way or the other!

Re: Sunday Riley Good Genes

Personally for my experience I prefer my First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance pads. It has quickly healed any rogue pimples faster than Good Genes with no irritation whereas Good Genes does irritate my skin. Good Genes is strong on irritation for me but doesn't perform as well as my Facial Radiance pads. Also, my pads have helped to reduce pore size and radiance too and is unscented unlike Good Genes. Also because the pads are in "toner" form (and I can still add my essences afterwards) I can go in easily with my other important serums without the Good Genes added serum. I'm actually hoping to do a video comparing these two products. lol

For fine lines the best approach is a dual pronged approach.

1. First and foremost to EXFOLIATE:

~ Both chemical: e.g., Facial Radiance pads or Good Genes)

~ AND physical: Find one that you like, like Clinique's Exfoliating Scrub or Laura Merciers Flawless Skin Face Polish, I use a brand that not sold at Sephora yet

~ It's so important to get rid of the dead skin cells using both ways as it really does help to reduce fine lines this way. I remember a YouTuber saying the Dermatologist told her to do that and it was remarkable the results she got from it.

2. Then always make sure you HYDRATE & MOISTURIZE your skin. Dry skin cells age faster than HYDRATED & MOISTURIZED skin cells.

~ to HYDRATE I use Essences type toners AND a good pure Hyaluronic Acid essence.

~ To MOISTURIZE I use an Oil & moisturizer at night and a moisturizer in the morning

3. Add in your ACTIVE SERUMS with VITAMIN A (ex. Retin-A, Retinol or natural forms of Retinol such as ROSE HIP OIL ~ I use this in the evening) and VITAMIN C in the morning

4. And Sunscreen

5. Oops I forgot to add in that I do try to choose some products that contain Wild Yam Root extract (Dioscorea Villosa Root Extract) and Red Clover Extract (Trifolium Protense Leaf Extract) as they are natural forms of plant estrogen that topically helps to replace our skins loss of estrogen that keeps are skin youthful. WARNING: if you have a medical condition like breast cancer that is estrogen based or have breast cancer in your family than you should stay clear of this ingredient.

All these will help you to reduce those pesky fine lines and wrinkles, build your collagen under your skin and keep you youthful for longer, just the way you feel. By the way I'm a super young 54 year old and my skin is smooth and radiant, I get alot of complements. Lol! I hope this helps! 😉

Re: Sunday Riley Good Genes

I agree with @TwilightDawn.  I'm a big fan of the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads as well.  I find them gentle enough for my sensitive skin.  I tried a sample of Sunday Riley Good Genes and had a little reaction to it, which was odd because my skin generally does well with lactic acid. I don't know if my skin is just hyper sensitive or perhaps I just needed to build up to the amount of lactic acid in the Sunday Riley product. After that, I tried the FAB Radiance Pads and while I try out new products every once in a while, the FAB Radiance Pads are my staple exfoliating product.  It works well for my skin (combination-dry, dehydrated and sensitive).

There are two sizes of the FAB Radiance Pads - you might want to try the mini / travel size one first to see how it fares on your skin.  There are also some value sets with samples of the Radiance Pads included.

I LOVE Good Genes. It's obviously not a miracle in a bottle, you need find a system that works for you. I actually don't find it helps with pores, I do agree that it is awesome with texture. You have to keep in mind that your fine lines didn't just appear overnight, they crept up on you over time. No one product out there is going to erase what took years to form. A good regime of products + time will help diminish.
