Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid

If you use Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid All In One Treatment, I’m curious how you use it. Do you use it in the morning under make up, and if so at what part of your skincare routine do you apply it? Do you treat it like a serum? If you use it ask a mask do you put on cleanser skin or after toning? I have used it on bare skin as a mask just after cleansing and it worked wonders. Over all, I’m curious to learn at what point you apply it. Thanks!

LOVE Good Genes!!! Right now, I'm working on getting rid of my acne, so I use (in this order) DAY: Luna or U.F.O., Good Genes, C.E.O. moisterizer, foundation. NIGHT: Blue Moon Cleanser, Saturn mask (2x week), Martian toner, U.F.O. and Good Genes. Absoultely love ALL of the products I've tried so far. Not really digging the smell of Saturn, but the benefits far outweigh the smell!

FYI you should not be using LUNA during the day as it has retinol.

 You can use Luna Sunday Riley oil during the day,  it is just suggested to be careful during the day in the sun & ALWAYS have sunblock, with a high SPF over top.

I use it alternating with Dr Gross' Alpha/Beta Daily Peel pads. If it is a day for Sunday Riley I put it on after cleansing and toning in the morning, give it a couple of minutes to sink in then I apply my C+E+Ferulic acid serum, then my Q10 serum, then day moisturizer. In the evening I will apply it again after cleansing and toning, let it sink in, then apply either Luna or any other night oil I might want to use, then any night serum I want, then a night moisturizer. On days when I swap in Dr Gross pads morning and night I pretty much follow the same routine.

With good genes you have the option to use it in the morning or at night. I use mine at night so I don't even have to worry about issues with makeup. After applying my luna oil, a few minutes later I apply the good genes. Plus if you use it in the morning you may need a stronger sun screen than usual.

Hi there! Good Genes can be applied morning or night and is best applied similar to serum or treatment (after toning, and before moisturizer and SPF). If it is applied in the morning we recommend always using an SPF because the exfoliation from lactic acid can cause sun sensitivity. We love using Good Genes at night after the Luna Night Oil. Massage in a few drops of the Luna Night oil and let absorb for 5-10 mins then follow with Good Genes. Luna goes down deep into the skin to smooth and repair, while Good Genes helps clear away dead skin, dullness to reveal clear skin. When used together, these two really are the Power Couple! 

If you are new to using Good Genes we recommend starting off by using as a mask 3 times a week. To use, apply to clean skin and leave on for 10-20 mins then rinse off and follow the rest of your routine as normal. After about a week you can start using as a serum and leaving the product on every other day. After about two weeks of using every other day, you can then use every day. We suggest starting off slow and building up use to prevent any irritation from exfoliation.

In the evening Can you cleanse, tone and then put this on and follow up with additional hylauronic acid serum like caudelie vinosource and then a moisturizer/oil?

@LaurenKossover It depends on bit on what toner you're using as to whether it would come before the GG or after. Either way, yes you can follow GG with other serums and seal it in with your moisturizer. Don't forget sunscreen in the a.m..

What mask do you recommend? I have Saturn for when I'm having breakouts, but any other recommendation for a mask when not breaking out? Typically, I have extremely dry skin. My breakouts are a result of extreme stress over the last month or so and hormones. I'm 47.

Hi. I have learned that that this product works most effectively on my skin immediately after being cleansed (and perhaps after a toner) due to its active properties. I have combo sensitive skin, so it is a must that I moisturize after the product has settled in. I made the mistake of applying Good Genes after essences and serums and noticed that it wasn’t that effective. With the price tag it has, I may just apply it even before a toner. Good luck!
