Skin Care

I'm new to a lot of this, & don't fully know when/how to use everything, so I'm hoping someone more experienced than I can give me a bit of a gameplan.

I have:

Dr Dennis Gross retinol wrinkle cream

Dr Dennis Gross vit C firm & bright serum

SKINFIX barrier+ moisturizer

Fenty hydra vizor spf moisturizer

innisfree bright eye serum with niacinamide

Glow Recipe hyaluronic moisturizer

G.R. watermelon night treatmemt

G.R. hyaluronic hydrating serum

Should I do something like skinfix & fenty, & g.r. moisturizer in the morning, then dr gross serum & wrinkle cream & g.r. night treatment at night? Can you overlap these products? Should I only use products like serums, hyaluronic moisturizers, anti wrinkle creams twice a week? Is there anything else out there that I should get? Also have Clinique cleanser & looking to get pore-fessional 'wow polish' exfoliant.

Thanks!

Re: Skin Care

@Gonzie22 I’ve got combo skin, I’m 46, and I’ve tried a lot of different cleansers, but I always go back to Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash 1.7 oz/ 50 mL   It’s gentle but effective. It’s rich and creamy with great lather. I only use it at night to take the day off. In the morning, I just use a little Caudalie Vinoclean Cleansing Micellar Water 3.38 oz/ 100 mL on a Shiseido Super-Soft, 100% Natural Facial Cotton pad.

As mentioned before, daily sunscreen is your best anti-aging friend. A tinted moisturizer is… okay… but consider just a dedicated product, I like SuperGoop. I also like to refresh my coverage with COOLA Organic Makeup Setting Spray SPF 30 1.5 oz Good Luck 🍀

Re: Skin Care

@Gonzie22 the number one thing you can do for your skin is wear sunscreen everyday.  I love Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ .  Or you can try a Moisturizer with spf in it.

Also use a retinol product every other day.  My new favorite is Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum 1 oz .

Plus a vitamin c Serum in the morning Tatcha Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA 1 oz/ 30 mL is my go to.

Re: Skin Care

Hello Lovely! Can I first start off saying I’m so proud of you! I am facing a fearsome forty and was in the same boat you’re in not long ago. I realized scrubbing with soap sometimes was not cutting it anymore. I watch lots of tutorials and reels from dermatologist and came up with my routine…

Morning: Cleanser, toner, vitamin C serum, moisturizer and SPF (makeup on after all that soaks in)

Evening: Cleanser, toner, retinol, eye cream, and moisturizer.

When it comes to a retinol I actually use a prescription of retinoid and I alternate it out for an exfoliant on Wednesdays and Sundays.

You are certainly on the right track!

Re: Skin Care

@Gonzie22 you wouldn’t need to use 3 moisturizers in the morning.  Unless you are rotating them on different days. You should add a spf that is not in the moisturizer for it to be more effective.

keep the retinol at night and always make sure to use spf in the morning before you go out.

I use my serum and moisturizers everyday not 2 times a week. The only thing that I don’t use everyday is retinol.
