Serious fine lines/wrinkles. Need help.

Help. I am in my late 20s & I am already aging horribly. 😞 I have serious fine lines and crows feet around my eyes.  And smile lines around my mouth. What specific skincare system or products do you recommend to help dramatically reduce? Should i start a retinol? I have looked into trying the SK-II youth essentials kit. Is that a good one? Thank you in advance! Any and all advice is appreciated.

Re: Serious fine lines/wrinkles. Need help.

The SK-II essence does nothing don’t bother. In the morning splash your face, apply a vitamin c serum (I use the Glytone one, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is a good, stable vitamin c formulation), then apply a sunscreen (I really like the tatcha one)

in the evening use a gentle cleanser (I really like to Round Lab Dokdo one it’s super gentle), then I use the Round Lab toner to adjust pH only because I’m super dry… I alternate days using a retinoid (start low and slow and get your skin acclimated as it can be very irritating: retinyl esters are the weakest, then retinol, then retinal, then differin and the strongest is Trentinoin which is prescription) 1% retinol is probably a good starting point for most. You can also apply a moisturizer before sparingly applying the retinol as a buffer to prevent inflammation. Also avoid the eye area!! Use an eye cream before doing the steps on your face. ☺️

Re: Serious fine lines/wrinkles. Need help.

Hi I just turned 27 and was worried about similar things so I incorporated a couple new things into my skincare routine. I added a Paula’s choice retinol (the lowest %). And Also her liquid exfoliant. After building a tolerance to both I now do 1 day retinol, one day regular skincare, then 1 day liquid exfoliant, then a day regular skincare and cycle that. I am seeing a major improvement in my texture and fine lines on forehead around mouth, and my pores  a lot smaller. I also religiously started wearing sunscreen. I recently fell in love with shisiedo sunscreen stick. It’s completely clear so no cast at all and you can’t feel it! I am oily skinned so my skincare routine is a gentle cleanser with niacinimide,(insert liquid exfoliant step here on designated day), tea tree water toner, the snail mucin power essence, niacinimide serum, (insert retinol on designated day here), tatcha dewy skin moisturizer for night and for day snail mucin all in 1 cream. I always “lock in” my skincare with cicaplast balm. And sunscreen and moisturizer before makeup. Make sure when starting any new actives you take it slow in the beginning to not have bad reactions and never mix actives! Hope this helps!

Prevention is essential imo @new2makeup12  and necessary if your considering starting using actives like retinol. Retinol and other actives can increase your skins sensitivity to sun damage so i would recommend finding a spf you love and will wear daily.

After you lock down an SPF you love, starting a retinol once a week until your skin adjusts and working up to twice a week is an idea. Just be patient, results can take months to show. In the mean time while your waiting, try to remember your skin is a part of you and will be with you for a long time. Everyone has lines and wrinkles and they are a part of your story. Every smile line, every laugh line. I think in a world where we see so many filtered faces it's easy to lose sight of what's normal. 🩷

Hydration is super important. Use a good hyaluronic acid and toner. Vitamin c in the am with a good SPF 50. Retinol is the pm! The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane, Signs of Aging Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL

i also love to gua sha to sculpt the face and make it less puffy!
Botox will also help if you are noticing the lines are deep set and won’t go away. It’s still so important, regardless of you get Botox to be consistent with your skincare regime!

@new2makeup12 @Strivectin has a great anti aging line (Sephora employee here)

Also you could start incorporating retinol like the Glow Recipe Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum 1 oz / 30 ml
