Riley Sunday good genes

is it worth the hype? have you tried it? how long did it take to see results? did you use it alone or in connection with other Riley Sunday products?

Re: Riley Sunday good genes

I can't get enough of Good Genes!!! I purchased the Power Couple set, but after 1 day, I loved the set so much, I purchased the value size of Good Genes!!! I have very dry skin and I'm 47.

RE: Riley Sunday good genes

I’ve only ever tried one Sunday Riley product. I was so excited as I loved the product line descriptions and design. It broke me out horribly so I steer clear of the whole line now.

RE: Riley Sunday good genes

I can't say because I've never tried it but framboos and sukari by drunk elephant are awesome.

RE: Riley Sunday good genes

Got a seven day sample promo, and couldn’t make it past day two. Burned the crap out of my face. An employee told me she had heard a lot of people complaining of the same thing. Seems like it’s very case-specific and depends largely on your skin type.

Re: Riley Sunday good genes

Oh, and also: It's Sunday Riley. Not Riley Sunday. 🙂

yes I realize I have the names reversed when I went in to buy today. I got the power couple set for the Luna oil and good genes. would you say to put SPF before or after good genes if I wear it during the day?

what embarrassing typos! I'm so sorry for the rude word in there I'm using voice to text and I didn't double-check before I sent 😶

Hope it works out for you. Yes, sunscreen will always be your last step in skincare. So, Good Genes goes before your moisturizer and sunscreen.

Re: Riley Sunday good genes

I agree it's worth the hype. I've been using samples of it for the last couple of months (once/day in the AM) in the interest of lightening some really bad forehead/outer eye hyperpigmentation. I am *stunned* at the difference on my forehead. I've been taking pics of my bare skin in the same light to see if it was making a difference, and I honestly gasped at the difference after three weeks (I've attach them; you can tell time has passed because of the reemergence of my grey roots and the change in my chin acne; sigh. The first pic is from 9/24/17, the second is 10/15/17. Look at the rounded spot above my inner left eyebrow, as well as the wavy section at my center-right hairline). I'm hoping it's also working to eradicate my acne scarring, but it's been harder to tell as I'm just now leaving a relentless hormonal breakout period. Disclaimer: I've also been using an ascorbyl glucoside vitamin C serum by The Ordinary, which is hopefully also contributing to my tone evening out. But if I could only keep one of my serums or acids in rotation, it'd be Good Genes.
Right now is the best time to buy because of the Insider/VIB/Rouge sale! I'm buying a full-size today (and hoping it lasts a long time). And if it doesn't work for you, you can always return it. 🙂

I tried it along with the Luna oil, which had a fragrance I did not care for. I wasn't too impressed, but did use up both products. But I went back to the Murad line bc it makes my skin look and feel better. I've tried many products over the past 40 years and my skin looks great. I think the key to maintaining your skin is to always use SOMETHING. Be consistently kind to your skin with products and sun protection.

RE: Riley Sunday good genes

Hi. Based on my experience, yes, it is worth the hype. I use it alone after washing (and maybe toning and before moisturizing). However, because of its actives, I want my skin to take in all of its properties. I believe it delivers what it claims. Personally, I use it at night. That said, I am pretty sure I will be buying this product time and timeagain. Good luck, and I hope you find that it works well with your skin.

Re: RE: Riley Sunday good genes

Do you leave it on or rinse or after about 10 minutes? I even called Sephora product line and they couldn't tell me how to use it. The directions for how to use are very confusing. Part says to apply as needed, another says to leave on for ten minutes. Would appreciate an answer!

Re: RE: Riley Sunday good genes

I had a skincare employee tell me that if you use a very thin layer (she recommended half a pump), then you can leave it on overnight/all day. However, if you wanted to use it as a more intense facial treatment, apply a few pumps liberally and rinse off after 10 minutes. I have yet to try the more intense method but I find that even the half-pump method produces fairly effective results as part of a daily skincare routine. Hope this helps!

RE: Re: RE: Riley Sunday good genes

It really depends on your skin @Anonymous. Normally you would leave Good Genes on the entire night but if you have sensitive skin, then you may want to wash it off after 10-15 minutes.
