Can you use any other gel (toner/mist) except the nu face primer?

Definitely yes. Actually, I recommend replacing the NuFace gel primer with Parker Lab Spectra 360 Electrode Gel. Spectra is much cheaper (~$8 for a pack of two 8-oz tubes on Amazon vs $12 for just 2 oz of NuFace gel). It also lasts longer and conducts microcurrent better. In my experience, the NuFace gel dries up too fast and has to be reapplied a couple of times within a session.
