Foundation & Deep Forehead Wrinkles

I have deep forehead wrinkles and my foundation seems to settle in the lines no matter what primer I use. What am I doing wrong? Should I apply it a certain way or do I have to keep bleeding over it until it almost gone in order to keep my foundation from settling? I do not like silicone primers because they make me get acne. Any advice?

Re: Foundation & Deep Forehead Wrinkles

My first question would be not what primer you are using but what foundation you are using. So many online people are touting full coverage matte finish right now and it simply will not work no matter what primer you put under it.  The NARS Tinted Moisturizer, which has more pigment than most and is very smoothing, may be a better choice than an actual foundation.  Lots of my clients have had very good luck with it for that exact issue.

I just realized the NARS you linked to has SPF. The reviews sound great. Is it possible/helpful to use as a primer if needed?? Thanx!

I'm not sure if you are asking if you can use a primer under it or if you can use the product itself as a primer.  The answer to both is no.  It does not need a primer under it because it is a tinted moisturizer, and it has too much pigment to be used as a primer under other products.

I have a question since you mentioned clients and seem knowledgable. I hope you dont mind. I use the ordinary retinoid (I'm not in my house, dont know the names! Sorry, hella blanking!), moisturizer (a l'oreal sample) w/spf, Smashbox Primer & bare minerals (not the new tinted one with soft or the powder bc I heard it can settle into your fine lines & it was starting to before I switched to their liquid foundation. I like the foundation as its buildable so I can use a light layer 90% of the time and it's a great color for me. My question is: Are there any good moisturizer/sunscreens that act as a primer so I could skip a couple steps? I'm looking for one that is at least 30 SPF. Problem is everytime I think I've found something I like I read reviews and they only confuse me more. I'm 38 and was a competitive swimmer for 1/2 my life, never really wore sunscreen, etc and I started realizing the lines before my wedding last years. I'm just hoping there's a primer out there that also moisturizes & have sunscreen. The BB & CC creams do but I get lost & also like my foundation. This feels like it should be a relatively easy find but I'm hella confused! Lol! Any insights?! Thanx!! 🙂

Yes! Murad makes a very cool product called InvisiBlur.  It is a hydrating serum, makeup primer and sunscreen all in one.  Blurs the look of fine lines.

I saw a suggestion of using eyeshadow primer in wrinkles since it made specifically for skin that folds. Then using very little product and setting with a translucent setting Powder.

The struggle is real @SurvivorMaggie. I have the same problem and I have found a few tricks that have helped me. I apply my foundation using a Beautyblender Beautyblender® pro one pro beautyblender. Use bouncing motions to apply your foundation. Take extra time around the deeper lines. The primer that I am recommending is new to me. I received it in a gratis package from Sephora. It is LILAH B. - Aglow™ Priming Oil. You only use one pump and apply it to your entire face. Hope this helps.
