Post in Age Defiers

Eye help please!

HELP! 😳 I’ve really been noticing those signs of aging around my eyes: wrinkles in the corners, and the skin underneath my eyes just looks tired and dull. At night I’ve started using Dr Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic Firm and Bright Eye Treatment, along with the same brand of Advanced Retinol + Ferulic Triple Correction Eye Serum. After which I dab on Clinique All About Eyes on top

During the day, I use both Dr Dennis Gross products again, but do not layer the Clinique moisturizer on top. Should I layer a moisturizer on top during the day, and which would  you recommend? I have no idea what to do as far as make-up for under my eyes, if I don’t add something light I look like a zombie, but so many of the powders sink into the wrinkles. I just got Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes.

Any recommendations please? Thank you so very much 🙏🙏😘😘

Hey there @MiloPennyNala !

So, it sounds like you’re using appropriate products, and now know when to use them. A sunscreen was mentioned. I like Supergoop! 100% Mineral Bright-Eyed Eye Cream SPF 40 0.5 oz/ 15 mL

Its hydrating and has reflective pigments and color correction.

All that said, we all need to be realistic about what topical products can and can’t do. If you have skin around your eyes that has laxity, ie you can pinch excess skin… nothing but surgery will address that. Retinols can help soften fine lines, as can moisturizer, but deeper lines can be there to stay. A consultation with a dermatologist can be really helpful.

Hi @MiloPennyNala

Did I read this right, and your using the retinol DDG during the day time? I would recommend only at night and you may want to consider adding a spf to your routine in the daytime.

You can do some reading and research but retinol products can make your skin more susceptible to damaged from the suns rays and I can tell your skin is something your trying to look after.

Re: Eye help please!

Thank you so much! I had no idea I was making it worse.

Re: Eye help please!

I wouldn't say worse @MiloPennyNala but maybe counter productive? There's alot of information to read out there about skincare and it really is kinda overwhelming. But with actives I think reading as much as you can, even talking to a professional is worth the time. For me, I only use actives a few times a week and I definitely use my spf everyday, rain or shine. 🩷

Re: Eye help please!

@MiloPennyNala  What you’re going sounds like a great skincare regimen.  The only thing I’d add is an oil at night and maybe a red light device to increase collagen production.

Re: Eye help please!

Thank you for answering. I recently bought the Qure Rejuvalight Pro, and have been noticing a bit of improvement.
