Drunk Elephant C-Firma makes me break out! Help!

Every time I use Drunk Elephant C-Firma, it makes me break out like crazy.  What are some similar products that won't cause this?

The fourth ingredient in the DE C firma serum is laureth-23, this is a KNOWN pore clogger and over time will cause breakouts and clogged pores if your skin cells are naturally sticky. I would stay away from this product if you have oily or acne prone skin and choose the Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C serum! I hope this helps

It had a absolute negative reaction on my sensitive skin. It has laureth 23 that cause acne. Makeup For Ever hydrating primer has that ingredient too and I had the same reaction to it. Even though I have dry skin and the hydrating primer felt good on my skin , it caused rash kind of acne. When I stopped using both products, my skin cleared up.

Just put a similar post up. DE C firma is wrecking havoc on my skin. It gives my skin a great glow, but crazy breakouts. Thought I was the only one. This is Sephora's #1 selling vitamin c serum & the reviews are excellent. Don't understand it

There are two possibilities.

1. Drunk Elephant C-firma didn't work for you. I didn't like the residue/feel it left on my skin after application. If you are looking for another vitamin C serum, my two favorites are Ole Henriksen Truth Serum and Perricone vitamin C serum.

2. You are allergic to vitamin C itself. Some people are allergic to vitamin C, in which case you can look for non-vitamin C products that do what you need. If you want vitamin C for brightening, Caudalie Vinoperfect serum brightens but doesn't have vitamin C. If you want it for anti-aging effect, try retinol instead or something like Estee Lauder night repair/Lancome genefique serum.

Eitherway, you might want to stick to the basic and don't try new products until your breakout goes away. Sometimes a product can be fantastic on normal skin, but worsens irritation if you have damaged skin.

You are so v correct about the Estée Lauder ANR I do like drier skin can pay it over makeup without jst a glow & not destroy the face too that product alone will keep them a giant in the industry.
