Skincare routine to replace proactive?

I'm currently on proactive to keep my acne at bay and it works great, however it really drys my face out, I was looking to figure out a skincare routine to replace the proactive but still keep my acne down and not dry my face as much, any product recommendations or any tips for keeping my skin clear but still moisturized? Right now I use cetaphil soap to wash my face before continuing with my proactive treatments.

@megington33 I rec a liquid cleanser instead of soap.  FAB Face Cleanser is great.  If you want something less expensive, CeraVe has some nice options.  BHA is good for fighting acne; I only like Paula's Choice.  Oil blotting sheets can help when used routinely; Target has good ones.  You can spot treat with Persa-gel - it's great.  If you need more help, as your derm for Rx Differin, or see if you are a candidate for Retin-A.  Best of luck!  🙂

Re: Skincare routine to replace proactive?

I used to use proactive for years. I also hated the way it was extremely drying. I would use squalane oil with my moisturizer to help prevent it. The ordinary has a good one that is reasonably priced and recommended for acne prone skin. I now use olehenriksens balancing line instead of proactive and am very satisfied with it, worth checking out.

Clinique might be good, but some of their products used to have a lot of alcohol, not sure about now. I’ve been trying out Drunk Elephant and it’s working kind of well. The most advice I’ve been getting is just go slow and try out one thing at a time so you don’t freak out your skin! I’m trying to be patient 🙂
