Foundation help!

A1EC0D3C-E9CB-4619-828F-49E106ADD006.jpeg

Hi everyone, this is my first time using the forum so hope I’m doing this ok! Excuse the makeup free selfie, but wanted to give everyone a sense of my complexion sans makeup.

I have combination, acne prone skin and am looking for a new light foundation. I WFH 4/5 days and wear a heavier foundation when I’m in the office. On WFH I tend to like lighter products that are better for my skin and don’t need as much coverage because meeting videos are a bit forgiving. I love using the La Roche posay anthelios mineral light finish tinted spf lotion, it works perfectly for my needs but only comes in 1 shade and is too dark for me in the fall and winter. I’m looking for something similar to this product: not cakey or oily, light coverage, and most importantly, will not irritate my skin. I enjoy using the lighter products as I find wearing heavier foundation everyday breaks me out. I’ve heard good things about Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation SPF25 with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide  Or Kosas Tinted Face Oil Comfy Skin Tint Tone 09  and the new HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Triclone Skin Tech Medium Coverage Foundation with Fermented Arnica 100 Light...  foundations or tinted moisturizers, and would like help deciding what you wonderful people might think is best, or if there is another recommendation for a different product. Thanks again for your help for this first time poster ☺️

Re: Foundation help!

You look great @RET33 , first of all!

Have you considered concealer as foundation?  I have a lot of acne scars, so I go to foundation often, but when it's less spotty, concealer + setting powder can be just as good.  You can apply concealer where you need and then choose a lighter powder and bake, creating a nice lifted look and laying down coverage only where you need it.

Lancôme SKIN FEELS GOOD Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 23- This is pretty much my only "light" foundation, I've tried a couple of other tinted moisturizers, but I prefer the mousse feeling of this one.  It doesn't feel heavy, and I like how it applies.  I do wish the shade range was a little more expansive.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Medium Coverage Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid 9 Neutral- I like this foundation a lot, it's pretty buildable, but I think my skin hates something in it, I can get away with wearing it 1-2 days and then I get a cyst (this happens with a lot of products😑), but what I react to doesn't always mean someone else will, but I figured I let you know since you might have the same issue.  The finish on it is really beautiful -- so natural looking, it's light to medium coverage.

For concealers:

Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid, haven't tried, but well loved

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer with Medium Coverage

Jouer Cosmetics Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer- this is a thick concealer, but that's why I like it. It can sheer out to be a foundation.
